11/3/2012 worse than 1/9/2012

The 2012 Alabama game still haunts. 1/9/2012 sucked, yes it did, but that game was meh meh from the start to finish.

11/3/2012 is the game that hurts worse in my opinion. If LSU wins that game, which they should have, they go on to win the West. Win SEC and would have pummeled ND in the NC just like Bama did.

I'll never forgive JC Copeland for that stupid personal foul penalty in the fourth quarter that negated a long run to first and goal. TD there would have iced the game. When he fumbled at the 1 against Bama last year just added to his unclutchness.

I can let 1/9/12 go, but on 11/3/12 the team that should have won the NC let it go.

With one minute left I thought we paid them back, this is, back on to another title run. And then once again right before the half we let them score.

When you think about, that some incredible defense for about 58 minutes. Each minute before half we just let our guard down and it cost us.

I'm still pissed more about 2011 honestly because I still don't believe they should have been in the game. They got let back in by a media train that thought they should have been in from the start. Winning a title that year would have cemented that team as one of the best ever in college football considering who they beat.

I mostly agree with this. Alabama was just better than LSU on 1/9. LSU was better on 11/3, but the players lost their focus. Copeland was an idiot for what he did (wasn't the only time he hurt the team that year with his knuckleheadedness). Screen pass to Yeldon...

This would have been much tougher. Georgia was a few short yards on being in the national title game that year. There is no guarantee LSU would have defeated UGA.

It's all that negative shite, it put a spell on us.

Seriously, SOME of our fans look at LSU and think they are MILES (no pun intended) from Alabama. The truth of the matter is that LSU was very, very close to the one having 3 NC's in a six year run.

2011- I think most agree that if Ok. St would have gone, that LSU would have won handily. Ok. St. should have gone, based upon top 25 wins, and winning their conference....

2012- LSU loses last second to bama, and partly due to reasons you described. Now, I'm not saying LSU automatically beats Georgia in the SEC Champ game....BUT, I am saying that LSU would have absolutely destroyed Notre Dame in the NC.

That close.....just a couple bad breaks...which happens. I still say it is because of the negativity....ha

LSU was the better team both years.

1/9 was a set up and 11/3 we fell apart at the end.

1/9 was bad, but 11/3 is when the air started to come out of the program. Last year, we just didn't have it. This year, um, yeah.

I disagree. They both hurt.. but one WAS the NC, and the other could have POSSIBLY put us in the NC game. If we pulled out a W in both, we would've probably had back-to-back NC

No. Losing your last game to a sub .500 team does not mean you should go to the national championship over a team whose only loss was by 3 points to "one of the greatest teams in CFB history." We should have taken care of business like we did all season but we didn't. Get over it and move on.

and another thing. With about 2:30 left in that game LSU up 17-14, LSU had a 3rd and 10 from their own 35 or so. What play is run.......wait for it......THE TOSS DIVE....for 2 yards.

This is after Mett was picking up 3rd down after 3rd down with Beckham and Landry.

Maddening.

Dude we are talking about the game LSU lost in TS to Bama 21-17. Not LSU winning in T Town 9-6.

Yes, the penalty was in the first half. Hill got down to the 13 but the penalty pushed the ball back to the 28. That drive ended with a failed fake FG. Unless Copeland had another penalty that is not showing up in the play by play.

Rating losses is like ranking trips to the dentist, but I agree. The home loss/screen pass was excruciating, a truly stunning loss. Totally different feeling than 1/9.
