From the Zachary Post, Aug 18th editon...
[quote]Last Wednesday afternoon ESPN announced that they will be televising Zachary's Sept 25 game with Calvary Baptist in Shreveport at 7 PM on ESPNU as part of its GEICO ESPN High School Football Showcase.
ESPN is labeling the games as a showcase for elite quarterbacks. Zachary is led by senior quarterback Lindsey Scott Jr. who earned all-state honors in 2014 after passing for 2,231 yds and 24 touchdowns. He also rushed for 965 yards and 15 TDs.[quote]
obviously this game also matches LSU commit Greedy Williams against Scott. I am sure there are other recruits in this game as well. ZHS' Center is committed to TCU.
more info on this matchup from NOLA.com shows ZHS in the Natiional Top 100 along with Rummel and West Monroe.

Bad matchup for Zachary. Calvary has the best secondary in the state. No Shea is huge though, the #1 reason Zachary can win.

Calvary should be fine with Jake Bartley.

That is what I would like to see. Zachary only has four home games this year so by playoff time they should be ready for anything. They are playing some very good competition this season.
After doing some research Scott has picked up another half dozen offers last month but most all from mid level schools but he appears to talking to some Power Fives now. He will be motivated to bring it.
I see you flying TCU on your Avi. ZHS center is a TCU commit. I look forward to watching it!

We'll see if my old school can finally get the level of physicality that West Monroe once had ,and that Acadiana now has. ZHS has improved light years since I played with Leonard Scott. We had the 3rd fastest guy in the nation my senior year and we went 4-6. Next year he was the fastest and they still went 4-6.

Ronnie Alexander has taken over as head coach for Calvary Baptist for the interim. Don't have a come back date for Bachman. I would imagine Someone else will run the defense in the interim. Could be a factor.

Alexander is still in charge of the defense. He and Calvary principal were both quoted saying Bachman would be back soon.

ZHS has a long way to go after watching that Jamboree last night. Mistakes, Mistakes, and more Mistakes. Scott looked sharp as a tack but when you run the spread the receivers have to catch the ball... EOS

Good to hear, he's a good coach and good guy.

After seeing Calvary's jamboree last night it's going to be tough to score on that defense....maybe pound the ball all game cause I don't know if anyone will be able to throw on them. 3 D1 DBs is just nasty.

We will see what ZHS has in their gut in a couple of weeks when they play Catholic - Baton Rouge. ZHS looked terrible in the Jamboree but the good news for them is that their problems are fixable. Coach Brewerton said that they looked "entitled" out there and that was not going to cut it. Look forward to it - hopefully it will be a good matchup.

Yeah it would be even more hyped up if Patterson would have stayed for his senior year. Hopefully it's a great game....Calvary will get a test this week going against TC with cole kelly leading them at QB.
