Wonder if the Guidry situation came back on Craig.

Craig should have been on top of that and new he was not going to qualify. I mean Bama found out their boy was not in 2 days before signing day and LSU reports Guidry on signing day.

It's something like that or Craig did something on the recruiting trail that was not above board.

Very Strange all rumors about Craig before signing day and Curtis Johnson.

Just speculation.

Craig was brought in to do what he did at AU. He never really followed up on that. Then Guidry and our failure to bring in a Top 100 WR. There's probably other things like CEO already has someone else in mind.

I heard before the bowl game that both would be let go after NSD, but I'm surprised how fast it happened after NSD. I heard Craig was super lazy and Juluke was just in way over his head trying to coach at the SEC level.

Losing Ausbon and not signing Devonte SMith played a role in letting him go per sauces

At the time Ausbon flipped, we were less in the hunt for Smith than on NSD. Assuming no bagmen, Ausbon was the clear cut #1 at a position of need - made even worse with Dupre leaving after.

Ausbon was by no means on the level of Akers and Wilson, you cannot afford to not reel him in (or Nico Collins) as RC and expect to keep your job.

Judging by the rumblings on multiple boards, this will turn out not be be a case of just losing recruits. This will turn out to be flat-out incompetence and perhaps unethical behavior.

Ok well that is more understandable than just losing recruits.

Yeah I'm having a hard time believing this came down to just missing out on a few recruits. If that is the case then damn O. A little harsh no?

That was a lot of reading to find a small clip about staff changes.
For others' convenience:
quote:

Orgeron had decided several weeks ago to let [Craig and Juluke] go, but wanted them to remain through signing day, which is common in college coaching. Juluke had not been recruiting well, and Craig and Orgeron did not hit it off.

It's a Glenn Guilbeau article FWIW- Personally, I'm not a big fan
