This guy is leaving in search of playing time, does Lehigh have that much more talent than Lsu.That Wade is running off guys to bring in a role player.

Not saying this is the case, but sometimes it's more about changing the attitude and culture of a program than it is a talent issue.

What if players are leaving and he just wants to replace them, but not he tied to a player for 4 years?

It's not just about signing star players. He needs depth, but a grad transfer gives flexibility as well, because they are just here 1 year.

I agree with you to a degree. We really don't want to bring in lesser talent for cultural purposes. If the guy is a better athlete that's something totally different.

Do you think Hayward is more talented than the players Coach Wade has offered?

and this is why i have no problem with these transfers, we gotta crawl before we walk....one thing you can usually count on from these Mid-majors, the kids play hard!! Johnny completely wrecked this program, repairing the culture is gonna take time.

Everybody's highlight reel looks great! These dudes Wade is bringing in excite me, however the question I have for each of them is can (or will) they play "D"? You never see highlights of their defensive intensity.

The SEC stood out this past season more than in previous seasons versus other conferences. Why? Because of suffocating "D". Both Florida and SC were incredibly tough. Kentucky wasn't all that bad either. LSU usually lost because their opponents defense was much better than the Tiger's.

I believe Wade will focus on defense, but I have no way of judging his recruits. For now, I have faith in WW. Only time will tell!

This is absurd. The first four seasons were good, not great but bar from a wrecked program. This past season was poor and I don't have a problem with replacing Jones. Just keep it in perspective. His other teams finished in the top half of the SEC.

A year ago they entered the last week with a chance to win the SEC title. He had a NCAA tournament and an NIT appearance in his first four seasons. Went 9-9 in the league with a converted tuba player at center .

His first four seasons they were 40-32 in SEC play. That is not a wrecked program.

My problem with that is change for the sake of change isn't a good thing. Going after guys willing to transfer doesn't necessarily mean they are team oriented players. I don't want to disqualify anyone before getting here so if it works out I hope it works out but man he is going after these long guards like crazy. Give me another post player, not a 6'5" guard.

until proven otherwise, I'll give wade the benefit of the doubt and believe he's got a plan in place.

any change is good change when you come off a season like we just had.

If Wade brings LSU to the NCAA tournament in year 1, what would be your reaction?

I know that ain't happening , but shite, this will be an entirely new team. Crazy how much work he's putting into this roster.

I think NIT is definitely in the cards.

I don't think Hayward got enough playing time for us to judge that. When we were losing every game I was wishing CJJ would shake things up and start the bench and see if they were willing to play with effort on defense and could do better.

Plus he was a raw freshman who had only played in Australia and had a lot of adjusting to do. No one would accuse him of being a great all around athlete and basketball player but from all evidence he could have become a great shooter who could bring you instant offense and break zones. I just hope we don't play whatever team he lands on and he burns us lika a certain former tiger on Alabama did.

I think Hayward has offensive upside, but he got beat off the dribble a lot on defense. Could a defensive minded coach fix that? Possibly. He is pretty athletic.

Collins burned us because CJJ's teams don't play defense. Many players had "career" nights against us last year, unfortunately!

Hayward was not a good basketball player.

I don't know why all the people on TD white knight for this guy. He was a liability on defense due to lack of athleticism and couldn't create space for his shots.

He might be a good shooter down the line, but this is not a loss for us. We've upgraded our roster in major ways this off-season, except of course AB leaving.

Correct

All evidence shows, maybe, down the line he could develop into a good shooter?

I mean, come on. We're not trying to make friends here, we're trying to win basketball games. I wish the kid well, I really do, but we need to have a higher standard.

Hawyard is not Corban Collins. They are several tiers away from each other in terms of athleticism and ceiling.
