Or is this the year when he just goes average on us?

What kind of "surprises" are people really expecting?

My expectations are low this time. I hope he finishes top 10, but not so sure this time...

True. Frank is the man. I hope we is firmly entrenched in Louisiana and does not get talked into something elsewhere. He is huge.

I get the feeling that they will close this class out with some solid guys and probably a big name that no one is expecting.

I don't think so. It's been a while since we got a nice surprise on NSD.

We've had one every year since Miles been HC. Jerrard Randle was last year's surprise but it came after NSD. He was a 4 star and a top 10 dual threat so it wasn't like he was picked up to fill a roster slot.

to compare miles recruiting success soley on national rankings is to get set up for disappointment. this yrs class contains less skill players than normal and contains more linemen and linebackers, even a long snapper. these guys usually are not rated as high in high school. a player or two might make a big difference in the final ratings. my bright spot with this class is the OL guys. after watching the debacle of 2009, i never want a piss poor OL again.

It was only 2 years ago that we got Ego Ferguson on signing day. Good point on Randall. Until early morning signing day last year many felt Rasco was going to FSU. By mid to late morning though it was apparant he was picking LSU.

Not expecting a suprise this year. Only suprise would be someone getting offered late that was unexpected and that wouldn't be a good suprise for most.

He wasn't so much a surprise as he was (no disrespect intended) afterbirth. When NSD showed up Oregon yanked his spot so he was a man without a home and we had a place to put him. I think in the end it will work out great for both of us but it was not a strategic "get". (FWIW - I also think that his current second-tier status - heck many don't even know who he is - contributed to Tracy Howard going cold on us.

I will go WAY out on a limb and say that Trey Williams will be a NSD surprise (a package get with Corey Thompson)! I figure its as random a guess as any, eh?

I remember his recruitment but it wasn't like LSU was the only school that was interested in bringing him in after NSD. There were still many schools on his offer list that have spots open. I don't think he even visited Baton Rouge but trusted the staff enough to take the leap of faith.

He is talented but I don't see how he sees himself as a fit. LSU's backfield is crazy deep with talent and they all range from big to massive. Our history with smaller, speedier backs doesn't look very appealing.

I know there are already a couple of threads on the subject but i got a funny feeling the Landon Collins situation is far from over. What was funny is that my brother works with some guys who have kids playing at Dutchtown and he said they told their dads he was going to Bama two weeks ago because his girlfriend had a job and free tuition at Bama. Maybe so...Maybe not....only time will tell.

Trey Williams isn't coming to LSU. His skillset fits LSU more than people would think. Sure he's small, fast and shifty but he's pretty damn stout and runs tougher than he gets credit for. Imo he runs tougher inside than Jonathon Gray does. His size just makes people percieve him to be only a scatback.

Miles usually pulls in a big one or two on NSD. But I don't think it is happening this year.

No surprises and this year's class ends with a whimper not a bang.

Top 10 - we may be fighting to hold in the Top 20

Let's hope some kids turn in our direction because our momentum appears gone

There are not going to be any surprises this year outside of the fact that Ill be surprised if we have enough to sign a full 25. Too little too late from this recruiting staff this year.

Guess I might be just a bit of a cheerleader. I like this guy. CLM has spent a ton of time in his neck of
the woods in the last two weeks. I think Thompson and Williams have a connection.. He's pretty clearly going Aggie, but if working with Corey CLM could flip this guy Wednesday would be a very nice day!

Dude you need to chill the frick out with the negativity. We would have to have some serious decommitts to fall out of the top 20. Like Hunter, Avery, Louise, and Vadal all flipping. Come on off the ledge buddy the Mettsiah will show you the light.
