So far from what I have seen, I applaud O for actually doing the job a coach is supposed to do and recruiting not only the best players available, but also looking at all options and how to solve needs that we have. Looking at this class and the momentum we have, I think this could be the best class up and down that we have ever had not only from talent standpoint but we are finding holes and looking to plug them in with real talent. Let's Geaux O, In Aranda I trust, Eaux Canada, and Geaux Tigers!

No

But it'll fill a lot of needs (OT, QB, hopefully LB) while reloading the defensive backfield and building more depth on the defensive front.

I would say it's one of the more rounded out classes LSU has had in a while. RB is oddly enough the one position they need to improve right now

See I agree with that. I don't remember a more well rounded class then this one is shaping out to be in a long time, and it has me really excited for the future

I tend to agree.
If we can close with Wilson and Chaisson and a couple of the linebackers we have on the board then from a "need" perspective it could be the best.
We seemed to have focused on skill players in the past few years which has definitely boosted the composite ranking so it may not be the most "talented," but it could be the best.
2 great QB prospects.
Deculus, Charles, Ingram on the O line.
Shelvin, Wilson, Mathis, Chaisson on the Dline.
Stevens, Delpit, Vincent at DBs.
If the LB position closes strong it will be an absolutely fantastic class.

From a signing day standpoint, i dont think this class has any chance of being the best we've had. However, thats less important than how the class develops and turns out. Won't know that a few years

No and if you think that this is the best class ever than you should probably go to 247 and look at some of our past classes. This Class had the potential to be the #! class if we would have gotten Dylan and Akers but we didn't. This Class still has a good shot to be top 5 class which I would say is a successful first recruiting class.

I agree with all of this - the good news (and losing out on Akers is bad) is that we should have the pick of the RB crop next year - the way we feature backs, after what will likely be a high profile season for Guice - and RB is one of those rare positions that a non-EE can come in and be expected to play right away (if good enough).

The bad news: We don't appear to have any "can't miss" RBs coming out of the state in 2018. I guess we wait on the development of Anthony Williams and Trenton Charles as HS seniors. I don't know who we're looking at for out of state guys for next year - Fabian Franklin, maybe.

This really could end up being a core group type of signing class. Ive been watching highlights of guys like Seth Stewart, Justin Harris, and CEH and even at 3 stars they look like guys that can contribute early and eventually be solid if not great starters throughout a full 4 year LSU career. Its not all about big names and stars

They will be gone in 4 years if it's a great class.

The 2001 class was maybe the most important class we've had with 5* guys like Spears, Clayton, Whitworth, Hill and Wilkerson. In terms of greatest, you can pick from a handful of Les' classes. My person rankings would be:

2009
2014
2016
2001
2011
