Here's Mora after he got canned by Atlanta Falcons' owner Arthur Blank:
quote:

"If you get the right breaks, if you make the right decision in terms of personally stay healthy at the right positions, you have a chance to ascend. If you suffer some catastrophic injuries, [and] make some poor decisions in personnel, then you sink into the mediocre range," Mora said.
No shite Sherlock with your CYA excuse making.

quote:

"My goal is to be a head coach again and work in the NFL for another 20 years."
Probably still his goal but couldn't get an NFL job so decided to try the college game. Would drop UCLA in a heartbeat for an NFL job.

With Hundley coming back, they have a real shot at a PAC-12 championship, and then he will take that ticket to the NFL

May be, but methinks they'd want their parents in the stands every game.

You can't seriously think Mora is the only coach that has something like that? He's not the only coach to be fired from on job and succeed at another. His path is pretty similar to Carroll.

Isn't that what Saban did at LSU? Still signed great classes (thank God) in 03 and 04 despite flirting with the NFL every year. Plus UCLA is a beautiful campus and great school. If he lose kids, I'd rather it to UCLA than Bama or A&M.

I hope we get the 2 Curtis kids and keep Godchaux. It would be incredibly shitty if he dicked LSU at the last minute after they stuck with him after his injury.

I could see why a LA kid would want to got to California or maybe South Beach. What I don't understand is a LA kid wanting to spend the next three or four years of his life in Alabama.

Mora, jr. Is selling the fact that the BCS is gone in favor of playoffs?....don't talk to me about...playoffs?.....are you kidding me? Playoffs?

LA as a whole sucks but certain areas (like Ucla's campus) are very, very nice.

you probably haven't worked out there enough, or maybe you like the traffic, smog, etc. UCLA is nice, though. Not a bad place for college, but horrible place to go back and call home afterwards.

I completely agree. I know part of it is my inner Bama hater, but how is going 2 states over to another SEC power "getting away"? Same with Florida, if you want to get away, go somewhere cool

some of these kids are superstars, and being a superstar means you want to live a glamorous life, which to some of them means moving out of state.

Some kids just want to leave home.

This has been the case forever. 2014 changed things why?

For some reason, Florida is portrayed as being on the beach, when, in fact, it's darn near a Trailer Park.

Los Angeles is a weird town...it is actually like ten towns all pushed together. When it comes down to it, the whole area, in my personal opinion is vapid and fake.

I would not want to live out there for any length of time (and I am also no a homer for the Southeast).

As to playing ball there, any person is eventually going to be a small fish in a big pond as time passes.

The opposite is true at LSU in Louisiana. You stay in state and work yourself into being an All-American and you will be a legend from here on out.

If I were the parent of one of these kids I would certainly try to convey that point.

Exactly what LF Sr did.
