I've noticed on several of the early recruiting lists, especially Rivals, where we are just about the only major football school on many of the 5* players lists that haven't offered them?

Why is this?

My two explanations: (Idk if they're right though)

-We like to give out offers mostly after camps

-Rivals doesn't update that well

I don't know if this is true. Can you list some examples.

I do know that the coaching staff makes a big board of who they like with regards to their scheme. Like for a fact I know that Arden Key was the number 2 guy on their DE portion of the board, but he was a 4star.

Throwing out offers to every highly touted recruit hoping some stick devalues the actual offers. They want the offer to be a big deal. Just my guess and how I'd do it.

This guy gets it. You have to present an offer as a well thought out decision by the coaching staff. You also have to be able to explain to the recruit what their role will be on the team, otherwise you look like a fool.

Based on talent evaluation, not how many stars random idiots attach to each kid.

Its because Rivals drops them to a 4* once we offer.

This, and we have done an amazing job at doing it. We evaluate at camps/combine and then offer the kid. This is why many recruiting sites bump kids way later after they see how many offers the player has after the school itself has evaluated them, not some guys who know computers and 40 times.

When Larry Coker was at Miami he used to do evaluations based on recruiting site rankings. It's not all about stars.

What style is that? How can we have a style already when they haven't practiced with their new DC?

We like taking less accomplished kids and develop them. Les and staff are known for coaching up !
