Why are people so pessimistic?

Everybody assumes the worst in any given situation regarding LSU on this board. Case in point, Priest Willis. He sends out ONE tweet and people assume he is UCLA lock. Maybe the visit wasn't as good as LSU and it confirmed his already made decision. How quickly everyone forgets that Priest was wearing/decked out in LSU gear at the UAA game. It seems like there is a portion of our fan base on this board who sit and wait for stuff to happen so they can b***h about it afterwards.

Basically we are like the homeless people from the South Park episode Night of the Living Homeless. As soon as we lock up a recruit, we completely forget about it and are focused on more. When they don't come, we worry we might starve.

I don't think it's people being pessimistic, but more of a realist. I think everyone and myself included don't want to be let down so we view recruiting as such.

When you're a pessimist, you can only be proven right or pleasantly surprised. People like saying "I told you we never had a shot with player X" because it makes them feel better about themselves.

I honestly can't hammer down a prediction. LSU, UCLA, Florida State, Nebraska. I think LSU has as good a chance as anyone. But if you look at the entire body of things that he has said over the course of his recruitment...I don't see how you completely rule anyone out. Surprises on NSD happen every year.
And I don't really put any stock into this package deal with Goodman. It would not surprise me at all if they sign with different schools.

OP total fail.
There is not optimism or pessimism on this board, these are people who've been following these players since they were sophomores in HS.
Over generalizations suck. Especially when they're completely wrong.

Because we are generally a loser state last in nearly everything. That loser mentality gets translated into fear. It's pathetic.

LSU us freaking awesome. No where is more fun. No team is more fun to play for. No team gets more players into the NFL.
We're a perineal powerhouse. Losing a dozen players to NFL and still one of the favorites to win it all next year.
We loaded our class early, may not add much on the last week but we're stacked! Love this class.
