Dude is an absolute stud as a true freshman on the baseball field.

Would love to see him on the football team

What has he done today?

I don't think many people knew anything about him

folks up in NELA aren't shocked at all how quickly he's moved up the ranks. I know Class 1A athletics gets overlooked, but you could see this kid could play big time college ball.

I still think he woulda made an impact at WR for anyone in the country

All the posters, including myself, from NELA. He's the real deal.

Farmtiger, Chuck U Farley, Tigerman327, and myself were all laughed at and ridiculed by the majority of posters when talking about him. It was more about a white WR from small 1A school than anything about baseball. Not much crap was given about baseball.

A few highlight reel catches in RF and a hit or two in a game where hits were few and far between until the 8th.

+1 JJ. He could make an impact in football if he walked on. He really is that good. Reminds me a lot of Mahtook.

I was very high on Laird. I was hoping he would get a scholarship. He was an absolute stud at OC, by the best athlete in both football and baseball. I was ecstatic when he announced he would come to LSU as a walk-on. However I remember that, at some point, he announced that was going to play only baseball and not football. I hope that has changed. He is a fantastic WR with great hands and speed. I compare him to Trey Quinn. He is also an outstanding defensive back!

Kid's the real deal, quality athlete, quality student & quality person. His attitude & ethics will help him exceed most fans expectations in whatever he chooses to do.

I always had a lot of respect for what he accomplished in high school and hoped the best for him. Very good all around athlete

I was a big fan too, he played wherever they needed him at OCS. I am confident he can contribute to the football team. Wish he would give it a shot.

Ronnie Rantz was on Moscona on Fri
Laird was actually at LSU for summer workouts with Moffett and football team
He chose LSU because of Vet School
When Jennings, the kid from Evangel, took $100,000 signing bonus through the draft that's when the baseball spot opened up for him
They put him on Ronnie Rantz's summer baseball team with Andrew Stevenson and no one could get him out
That's how it all went down
