Per capita, who would you say puts out the animals in college and pros?

to answer my question i think either Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia

This. Almost every single year, which is even more impressive.

Per capita, I don't know. But it's the deepest in Texas

Overall Texas and it's not even close.

Texas has the best high school football... But to answer your question about putting them out per capita, Louisiana.

South and West Texas kill the per capita aspect. Louisiana is always tops per capita and should be proud.

California, Florida and even Georgia crank out a shite load of talent every year.

High School football is good everywhere! Where talent comes per capita from is a different question.

Best HS football =\= puts out the most animals in college. I think Texas has the best overall HS football product. Florida and Cali put out the most players.

Two different questions really.
As far as the "best high school football" category, Texas wins hands down because of coaching alone. 5A and some 4A Texas kids get college level coaching. Louisiana coaches have gotten poached away from by Texas programs for years. Some high school staffs have more than 20 coaches to help with their kids. They also have the best facilities, training, equipment and in most cases, more advanced offenses. Nutrition may be better too as it is more important, at least in the larger programs.
As far as the best recruits I think that varies. Positions and systems vary from state to state.
Seems like the best quarterbacks come from Texas. I think the coaching has more to do with that than anything else. The systems their kids run are more sophisticated than many in other states. Lots of good OL, running backs and receivers too.
For skill position players I think Florida might have the biggest claim to being the best. WR's, RB's and especially DB's seem to fall off the orange trees in South Florida. The rest of the south has it's share of these guys too, just not as many.
For DL I think the Deep South is where we grow the monsters. From Louisiana across to Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. We've gt big, fast guys that are strong and light on their feet.
Football all over the South is great. Let's just play some games.

That article is 8 years old. Since then Louisiana has taken the per capita crown almost every year.

Texas has the best football in general, but our talent is better. Louisiana has almost half as many NFL players as Florida, even though they are 4 times larger population wise.
If we scale the same population as Texas, our total number could be close to 500 players. If Texas had our population they would have 38 players in the NFL.
I know that's just an estimate and not absolute, but per capita rankings are actually more logical than just comparing total numbers on a state by state basis.

I don't think population should be the decider, sure Fla has a lot more people but a lot of them are retired, and not many of them are going to get recruited.
As surely as La,Ms,& Al are rated at the end of the line on a lot of things, Football players aren't one of them. And the reason is obvious.
Also check out which states have the highest rate of obesity, that also holds a clue..

True dat. Imagine if La, Ms, and Al had the same resources as Texas. We need to do independent school districts in Louisiana, like they have in Texas. Let each district directly manage their schools. Shreveport has 4-5 teams that share one stadium, while almost every school in Texas has their own individual facilities. The main difference is how they manage through their independent school district

My opinion----
Texas has the programs and the support of large fan bases and big bucks to fund the facilities and a hard working and motivated group of athletes.
Louisiana and Mississippi have storied programs with rich traditions and great fan bases. Many programs are able to work hard to support the programs in an efficient manner. However, Louisiana and Mississippi have athletes that could be classified as 'blue collar' types that would succeed whether the facilities are world class or less than desirable. Football is the heart and soul of many young men in both states and for the most talented a path to a bright future.
