Harris is the best of those five, IMO.

I personally don't like any of them for LSU. not to say one won't get an offer, I just don't think they are the kind of prospects befitting a top 3 program

Harris but we'd only offer if we miss on all OOS prospects. I think the intention is to sign only 1 QB this class and we'd have to miss on an awful good deal of OOS guys for him to get an offer. It could happen though. He could also make a jump up the board with a good camp showing and solid senior season.

I am going to have to disagree with you bruh. I mean if any of them did earn an offer they would not be expected to come in right away to be the starting QB. Therefore they have ample time to learn the system not to mention they still have one more season of high school to improve.

He wasn't saying they would come in and start right away, he thinks no QB in LA is talented enough to help our team out. Even in their sophomore/junior/senior seasons. Jordan Jefferson started for 3 years here and wasn't exactly and asset to the offense. Not everyone becomes good with experience/age, sometimes talent is the ultimate limitation.

I like Harris and Reagan is ok but ISOM would be incredible if he could sit and learn the system for at least 2 years.

1. Yall have a valid point that time does not always equate to a kid improving, but with a guy like Cam LSU can afford to take on a some what of project at QB and develop a quality QB. With Jennings and Rettig we will see what JJ and JL should have been.

2. JJ and JL are two totally different creatures a lot of people will blame them for not being talented which could not be more of an ignorant statement. JJ and JL are casualties of a flawed system. With proper coaching and development they could have been draft material but they slipped through the cracks.

my point is we shouldn't have to o after a project. if we need 1 QB, we should be landing a top 10 national QB, not someone with raw potential just because they are from Louisiana.

unfortunately that is not the position we seem to be in due to perceived notions about our offense, but we SHOULD be landing a top QB every time we need one.

Harris shows the most potential imho.

Isom with the right coaching will be a stud.

Gibson seems really cool in the pocket but has a side arm delivery.

Edwards seems to have the same skill set as Harris just not as explosive

Crochet is good his height is his greatest flaw

agreed I just know sometimes landing that top tier QB always does not pan out. (i.e. Gunner Kiel), but sometimes it does (i.e. Jennings and Rettig) So it seems safer to have an ace up your sleeve and pick an in state kid who we wouldn't have to recruit too heavily and just take the time to mold him.

Here's my take on QB's.
I dont think any of the 5 u listed will be recruited by LSU.
The 5 star OOS QB's arent coming to a program like LSU, unless there are family ties.
U either home grow them or u scramble to get what u can get. Unfortunately for us La hasnt produced enough big time QB's recently.
Ask yourself if u were a 5 star QB wouldnt u want to be in a pass first offense and not play the caliber of defenses in the SEC?
Every now and then u can find a guy with an asterisk by his name like Mettenberger and grab him but other than home growing them or taking a chance on a "problem" guy it will continue to be the most dificult position for us to recruit.
The most forgotten but most important recruits we got last yr were the 2 QB's. They are very hard to come by and we got two of them. Very good job by the recruiting team. Hopefully one of them becomes the star of this yrs class.

You have a point. Unless you're more concerned about winning than being in a pass first offense, that is.

I dont know about that I think LA does produce some big time QB's they just do not get the national recognition they deserve ie ULL's Terrance Broadway. If you compare his numbers against North Texas and Florida last season with Mettenberger vs the same teams Broadway was more productive. But iirc he didn't get and LSU offer. Same with Blaine Gautier. Which explains my point that if LSU did choose to pick up one of these in state kids it could pay off down the road

Do y'all agree the consensus top three prospects in the state are Harris, Ison, and Gibson?

After that, who would yall say are the next crop of top instate prospects?

I see the staff taking a real good look at the the QBs mentioned above, as well as continuing to evaluate top OOS players. The signal caller from Ohio is an intriguing options, as are others.

Yes I agree but Harris is the front runner then Isom and finally Gibson. I also like Crochet but his height will be the issue that plagues him. I like the kid that just committed to Tulane Glen Cuiellette but I don't think LSU was going to give him any looks but he should flourish at Tulane

I am a senior at Archbishop Shaw and my QB was Gibson and he is really good in the pocket even with the side arm he has a really good arm but from what I heard from people around him and the little things he says LSU doesn't look ever good with his chances but you never know plus his older brother plays for LA Tech
