It doesn't look like we even offered. Why can't we seem to pull top talent from Nola in basketball?

I know, but why umass?

Any particular reason he never showed interest in LSU.

He's going to UMass with his teammate Brison Gresham

We really missed out on these 2, absolutely needed a big like Gresham in this class too

So many examples the past few years of studs getting out of state. Not only from across the state but in Baton Rouge

Probably because we have a coach who can't develop players. He can't take a mediocre player & make them better. He doesn't know how to design plays or get players to improve certain aspects of their game. Not only can he not develop players, he doesn't know how to win either. Yes, we might win a few that we weren't supposed to (e.g., Kentucky), but we lose way more games that we were supposed to win. People can say it's not only the coach, but that's where it starts. Some blame does need to be given to the players, but it's not the same players every year. We have the same coach, with the same results each year. Yet somehow, they expect a different outcome than what we've seen the previous years.

Hes developed plenty of players and he has won. Your post is full of lies.

Really?

Jarell Martin was ranked 12th in the Class of 2013, was developed at LSU and was a first round pick.

Chris Walker was ranked seventh in the same class went to Florida, went undrafted and is in the NBDL.

Josh Gray was a jack-it-up combo guard who progressed and doubled his assist-per-game average from 1.8 to 3.8 in one season to the next at LSU.

Players don't develop at LSU?

Every team wins/loses games it's not supposed to. Was Texas A&M supposed to lose LSU when A&M was ranked No. 15 in the regular season? Was LSU supposed to win at No. 16 West Virginia in 2014-15, was LSU supposed to beat Kentucky in the Ice Dome game?

Teams win games they shouldn't and lose games they shouldn't. If every team won every game it was supposed to, Kentucky would win the national title a heck of a lot more than it does.

Yeah, last season was disappointing, but let's not go overboard. What happens if Hornsby and Patterson are healthy all year?

What have we seen in previous years under Jones?

LSU wins 19 games out of the box, more than anyone could have hoped for, goes to the NIT his second year and wins 20, breaks through for an NCAA bid in Year 3 and lands the nation's No. 1-ranked recruit.

Granted, last year was disappointing. Nothing went right and chemistry was terrible.

The same results every year?

Jones won more games through his first three seasons than any basketball coach at LSU -- E-V-E-R.

And it's not like LSU is a traditional hoops school in a hoops state.

LSU is seeing something different. It's seeing its program grow.

One step back doesn't change that.

What LSU really needs is a name coach, right?

Like Bruce Pearl?

Check his record. He's won nine SEC games in two seasons at Auburn. Jones' worst season at LSU is 9-9 in SEC play.

I know LSU fans think LSU should win everything every year, but that is not the way it works.

Just ask Kentucky. They have a whole lot more reason to think that is the case in basketball, and it doesn't happen for them either.

This is the best basketball post I've read dating back to before the season started. Well done. This should be splattered on the rant....but they are too busy melting over baseball season anyway

He isn't as big of a miss as most on here who have never seen anything but a highlight video will lead you to believe.
