I wasn't able to easily track down this info, and I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to the recruiting class when Saban left LSU?
How many recruits left? Did the ranking fall apart, etc.

LSU signed 13 players, Ryan Perilloux was in that class. It was small, but still better than the '08 class

I'm curious as to what happened to the commits that's decommitted.

Was it just rumor or was Perilloux all Texas until Saban left, becuase he did not like Saban?

actually, Saban saw him for what he was and didn't recruit him.

Yet somehow didn't see that with a member of infamous Hankton crime family and X. Carter.

Had Saban stayed, we would've missed on the 5* Perrilloux and we would've been stuck a three star qb out of Tuscola, Tx. The #15 pro style qb and the #73 player in the state.

That kid was Colt McCoy

that's what the movie tells us!

haha. they say he was big on LSU until Saban left..which got LSU out the picture for sure..

I still think he would have wound up at Ole Miss

If I remember correctly, we were in a number crunch that year. RP was commuted to Texas and said he would not play for Saban. Saban left and we lost one or two recruits, but I think it was just a TE and an OL. Miles pushed hard for Perriloux and got him to commit. Saban leaving so late in the process really put Miles behind the eight ball as far as recruiting for that year.

I don't recall--why was the 2008 class so bad?

I recall Tim Tebow saying he was leaning LSU until Saban left.

Tebow grew up a Florida fan, his entire family are Florida fans.

Again, not true

Mrs. Tebow (mom) said in an article that Tim was leaning LSU but Saban was fired and at the time Tim made his decision, LSU had still not hired a replacement. IE, uncertainty made up his mind. But, it's very possible that Mrs Tebow was lying.

Only had as many scholarships. My cousin went to Auburn because they offered a greyshirt to him no scholarships left.
