Several Recruiting analysts have stated that FSU sold Akers on being the guy at RB from day one. Below is what they have on the roster coming back. Patrick and Rasul were highly recruited backs.

7 Ryan Green RB 5-11 204 RJr. St. Petersburg, Fla. / St. Petersburg Catholic
9 Jacques Patrick RB 6-2 231 So. Orlando, Fla. / Timber Creek
22 Amir Rasul RB 5-10 196 Fr. Miami, Fla. / Coral Gables
26 Johnathan Vickers RB 6-1 228 Jr. Quincy,
38 Fred Davis RB 5-11 214 RFr. Jacksonville, Fla. / William M. Raines
43 Jake Duff RB 6-0 184 So. North Fort Myers, Fla. / North Fort Myers

FSU also has two backs currently committed for 2017.

Meanwhile, LSU will have Guice for one more year most likely, Williams is a senior, and then Brossette and Lanard.

LSU has Clyde currently committed. If anything, LSU appears to be a much better spot if playing time is the consideration?

Cook is a dynamic RB and will have a very successful career, but LSU has always put their RBs in a position to be extremely successful.

Basically telling him he's better than anyone on the roster next year and will be Dalvin Cook 2.0 from day 1.

Recruiters! The best recruiters, ethically or otherwise, can/and will sell you a bucket of salt water in the middle of the ocean if you will listen and bite. Just the way it is.

Jaques Patrick will be a Jr. He was the 3rd ranked RB in the nation in 2015 and had offers to virtually anywhere he wanted to go. Akers isn't going to come in an supplant him no matter what Jimbo is selling.

Telling him he'll replace Cook day one. Doesn't really matter if it's true or not, matters if he believes it. This is how recruiters earn their paycheck. I'm sure LSU has pointed out there are other guys on their roster, but our coaches have a harder sell with Guice being the obvious starter and Cook leaving.

I wouldn't even want all the carries as a freshman. Save your body bro.

The same thing LSU is, the opportunity for immediate playing time.

Probably saying LSU wanted our coach. He stayed with us. We must be better than LSU. They don't even know who their DL coach will be. Corey Raymond is going to Florida. Blah blah blah

LSU was severely hamstrung by the lack of OC. Thats a massive red flag to these national recruits like Akers. Hell it hurt us with bleeding purple guys like Brennan too.
Now that the situation is resolved, we can only hope to make up ground.

Looking at common opponents this year between LSU and FSU, being the next Dalvin Cook is not such a good idea. Lead rusher below = rusher with most attempts in game.

Ole Miss:
FSU lead rusher: D. Cook 23 carries, 91 yds. 0 TD, 3.95 yds per attempt
LSU lead rusher: L. Fournette 16 carries 284 yds. 3 TD 17.75 yds per attempt

Florida:
FSU lead rusher: D. Cook 26 carries 153 yds. 1TD 5.88 yds per attempt
LSU lead rusher: D. Guice 19 carries 83 yds. 1 TD 4.36 yds per attempt
LF carried 12 times and shouldn't have played in this game because of injury which negatively affected production numbers from Guice.

Louisville:
FSU lead rusher: D. Cook 16 carries 54 yds. 0 TD 3.37 yds per attempt
LSU will play Louisville in Citrus Bowl and will likely get 54 yards rushing on one play.

Weak ACC defenses to pad his stats against. If he wants to look impressive against real defenses, SEC WEST is where it's at. H

He can, and most likely will. Patrick is alright, but he's no Akers.

People must have forgot that Spencer Ware, Michael Ford, and Kenny Hilliard, were supplanted by Jeremy Hill in his first year. Hill had to sit out for a year because of what happened his senior year in high school, and he still moved past those 3, 5 games into his first year. Hill was ranked almost 200 spots below the lowest ranked of the three.

If Akers comes to LSU, he'll take over the #2 spot within a matter of 3 games or less. Williams might actually transfer if we get Akers.
