No...we won't be terrible...but we may have a serious matchup problem in the paint against some teams.

Victor, Epps and Simmons will be ok on the frontcourt
Quarterman gives us additional size at G
Blakeny will be a talented wing
If you add Newman this team will be fine along with Hornsby Gray and Patterson
Bridgewater and Malone will get some minutes

There would have been a serious logjam of playing time had Martin and Mickey returned but would have been nice to have that problem for the first time in a long time

Biggest key will be the new assistant and what he can bring to the table

Nobody here cares about basketball. The men could be in the final four right now and the fans would be more upset losing to Kentucky over the weekend

Interesting, since I just read a free article off that site with quotes from his advisor stating he would not drag out his recruitment and was pretty set on LSU or the Mississippi schools, just wanted to visit 1st then decide soon

A lot hinges on Victor and Robinson, both of whom are very talented and will be sophomores.

Elbert Robinson is a seven footer who was no. 59 player and no. 6 center coming out of high school.

Craig Victor is a 6-9 power forward who was the no. 41 player and no. 6 power forward coming out of high school. He has had an extra year with time spent at Arizona then transferring.

I am optimistic.

I know he has an offer. We've been in contact with Kasongo a lot longer then a lot of people know.

I'm kinda retarded when it comes to linking from my phone. I simply googled Ray this morning and read every article on him from the last 2 days... All 3 articles lol, one of which mentioned Howl and going after him, all mentioned he's 4 to play 3

We talked about Ray early last week and after watching this guys film I think he can fill Mickeys shoes perfectly. Maybe better and more athletic. I think he is also a inch taller so he can cover bigger men.

I also researched Elbert and looked at his high school film he is good. I think he was out of shape. He is a little stiff and slow but he should be serviceable in Middle with Victor at 4 and Simmons at 3.

Matter of fact if we have a lineup that looks like this we are golden IMHO. (Without Newman)

TQ
Tone Blake
Simmons
Victor
Robinson

We still have length and speed and athleticism.

The perfect line up: ( With Newman)

Newman
Tone Blake
Simmons
Ray K
Victor

Off bench
TQ
Hornsby
Patterson
Gray
Robinson
Epps
Bridgewater

All can play and get minutes we are in a good position to make a run in the tourney.

Another tidbit I got in my reading was that Big E and Ray have a history of playing with and against each other coming up. Cannot hurt, and I agree, his upside is huge, more length

Looking at the McDonalds All American rosters...there are 3 uncommitted centers. Bryant, Swanigan and Zimmerman. None are currently considering LSU. Need to get the "Killer B's" to start hammering those guys.... (One is considering Chicago State for Christ's sake!)

IMO Darcy does not have the skills to make it in the SEC right now. Not saying Darcy can't develop, but I just don't see it happening by next year. Elbert can be solid though.
