Anyone here have insight as to how the selections are made? Do these kids get BOTH offers and decide which one they will attend?

Both seem to have blue chip players in attendance, so I assume it's not based on rating services. With so much focus on "Swag" it seems as though they would lean to the UA game. And then there's the coaching angle, the UA game features the likes of Deion, Mariucci, Golic, etc; while the Army game is a bunch of high school coaches.

Anyone know why LSU has so many commits or targets in the UA game and almost none in the army game? Just a coincidence this year?

Army All American game was the first game, then UA came along a number of years afterwards.

These days, it seems the UA game is slightly more prestigious (at least perception wise). More of the higher ranked players end up at this game over the Army All American one.

I know this for sure, the Army AA game has 4 times the star power talent across their roster.

Good example: Army has 9 of the top 10 highest rated QB's. Under Armour's had one top 10 QB in Mond who was ranked 7th.

Outside of one or two positions, Army has the bulk of the Top guys at each position.

You know what for fact? The fact that your stats are wrong?? Brennan and narcisse alone were both UA AA. More players from UA AA game have been drafted they last 5 years for sure

I know players who have played in both, 2 in the UA game and 1 in the AA game. From my point of view, UA gets pick of the litter. Most kids prefer the UA game, a week in Orlando (trumps SA), All your practiced televised on the worldwide leader, better accommodations, food, swag, you name it.

Have you looked at the Army roster and the 247 position rankings together? I did. Clearly you haven't, or else you wouldn't be saying this. This year it clearly has more higher ranked talent ratio per position than Under Armour did.

And?

Sure, I'm excited they are LSU commits and think they both can excel in Canada's system, but as far as 247 rankings, they are 11th and 20th on the overall QB 247 list. Army has 9 of the top 10 playing in their game.

What does that have to do with the rankings of this Army roster? I'm not projecting their careers. Right now, not 5 years from now, this Army game has far more star players at every position playing in it than UA did. That's a fact.

It's up to the kids. Sure the army game has the better qbs this year, but look at the defensive lineman....UA dominates that aspect.

Army has the better RBs. But UA had way better Olinemen. There isn't rhyme or reason.

Better Qbs: #1 Mills, #2 Johnson, #3 Tua, #4 Fromm, #5 McCaffrey, #6 Martell, #8 Ehlinger, #9 Sears, #10 Robinson

Better RB's: #1 Najee Harris, #2 Cam Akers, #3 Carr, #4 Swift, #6 Dobbins, #7 Chandler

Better WR's: #1 Peoples-Jones, #3 Lewis, #5 Grimes, #6 Parkinson, #7 Matthews, #8 Matthews, #10 Devonta Smith

Better TE's: #1 Parkinson, #2 Kmet, #5 Bryant,

Better OL: #1 Sarell, #3 Meyers, #4 Davis, #5 Little #7 Ashley, #9 Jackson

Edge to Under Armor at DL with 1 Wilson, 3 Kaindoh, 7 Shelvin and 9 Ray. But Army has the other six top 10 DL at 2, 4,5,6,8 and 10.

Tie at LB. Both games have 5 of the top 10. UA had #1 Moses

Tie at DB. Both games have 5 of the top 10. Army has #1 Okudah

This year, Army clearly has the better star power.

Usually UA is better.

But they are taking all the Ls in the past 18 months.

Since 247 got involved with Army they have been improving. Their game will be a lot better to watch and more NFLers down the road.

Army >>> UA game. The UA game has perpetuated some of the bullshite drama associated with commitments.

The Army game gets a lot more of the talent out west. The UA game seems to get a lot more of the south talent. ESPN runs the UA game and doesn't even have any sort of recruiting scout focused on the west coast.

Well I think 24/7 took over the army game so that would explain why there's more top players in the game this year

Well I will say this. Players receive their invitations to the Under Armour game based on personal merit and achievements. Players receive their invitation to the US Army game based on 247sports notiriarity. I know for a fact that US army / 247sports charged $500 a player to attend a combine during the summer in San Antonio in which they were told they have to compete in to be considered for an invite to the game. 600 players showed up thinking they were competing to be chosen. However, US Army and 247 sports had already picked almost every player at every position before the 2016 us army combine even started. Go check the roster of players who attended the combine and the roster chosen for the game. If you're lucky you may find a hand full that did both. Therefore, the combine was a money making scam and the integrity of the selection process is suspect at best... Say what you want about who has been selected to play in what game but take a look at the 247 ranking's and then take a look who has been selected. BTW the players who had already been selected to attend the US Army Game at the time the combine was held this summer did not have to attend the combine nor did they have to pay the $500 to compete. So you tell me who's game is more fair in their selection process.
