Apparently Auburn and West Virginia are the favorites to land him. Given LSU's lack of experience at OLB with Louis and Jones graduating, I'd think they should at least try and get this guy to consider spending his graduate transfer year at LSU.

I don't see why you wouldn't at least give a call, plus Aranda has seen him in person

Maybe that's why they aren't trying to recruit him...

He did say he wants to go closer to home, but now Auburn is the favorite? OLB is the least experienced spot on the roster right now.

Sounds much more promising than our last LB from the state of Illinois...

Trust the process. If he's worth getting, Aranda and Les will investigate the matter. If he's not then they won't.

I don't expect LSU to actually make a run at him, but people were talking about JUCO linebackers and I saw this story and thought it would be worth a mention. I'd be thrilled if LSU was happy with what they have already.

only 1 left.

and he's a mike who doesn't wanna be moved outside, which is playing a big part in him leaving. per this:

quote:

Neal is coming off a 109-tackle season with the Illini, but left the program when he didn't agree with the new coaching staff's plan to move him from Mike linebacker to Sam.

"It was a smack in the face when the position changed," he said. "I just didn't agree with it."

we need all the help we can get, including inside though, so hey. come on down.

He sounds like a me-first kind of guy, which isn't Les' style. If the team needs you to move to Sam, you move to Sam. You aren't bigger than the team.

Well, one year is good for me. More depth is always a good thing.

but look at the team he plays for:

two weeks before the season starts they fire the HC
two weeks before the season ends they fire the AD

the new interim AD on hiring of Cubit as Head Coach-
"Obviously, it's not ideal but for now, I don't think it'll put a dagger in the heart of the program," Kowalczyk said.

I wouldn't want to play for that program
