Jimmy posted a nola.com link on Facebook saying he will be coming in to "just get away and talk to coach Miles face to face." Says he is currently on track to enroll in a D1 program in January of 2017 making him a 17 recruit. What say the recruiting board..

Edit: Travonte Valentine will no longer be coming in for a visit. Staff will continue to monitor his development

Edit #2: according to a Facebook post from Trevonte he's on his way to BR to see few people and a positive mentor.....

This is crazy.

Also said he has contacted coach O and Miles will make final decision on whether he could become apart of the Tigers again. Valentine says he still wants to be a Tiger if allowed. Has recently picked up offers from Miss St and Baylor.

I'd take him. Not expecting him to be an All American or anything. But he'd add depth at least...provided he gets his diet in order.

Agreed. Would definitely take him. Can't hurt to add a big body like that to the DL

Only way I'd take him back is if he has a trouble free year at MGCCC and we set strict guidelines for him:

- Must obviously maintain eligibility academically
- Skipping Class policy, 1st time = 1 game suspension, 2nd time = 2 game suspension, 3rd time = kicked off team
- Drug tests monthly at random, fail any of them kicked off immediately
- Anger Management Counseling

He wouldn't go to class anyway...LSU won't have summer school

If he needs these guidelines, let him go elsewhere.

Look, I'm good with giving people 2nd and 3rd chances and all, but this dude was given every opportunity to succeed here, and he obviously didn't appreciate it.

We need to move on from this guy, and let him move on from us. He had numerous chances to straighten out his act, and never cared enough about it to do anything.

Good luck to him in life, but we don't need to invite a problem child back to the team, that is probably about 99.99% sure to start having those exact same problems again.

Got into an altercation at Arizona Western C.C., part of the reason he's not there anymore.

How long has he been out of high school? Les should do what he can to assist Valentine by telling him to enroll at any school he can get into immediately, and prepare for the NFL draft. Les should provide reasonable assistance in finding some place Valentine can play the 2016 season. He has too many issues for LSU to hope he can contribute in the 2017 season.

Ah, ok, thought that was just LMAO. Anyhow, his juco now has him, Buggs and Moore on its DL, better than most P5 colleges

He was in the class of 2014, and he redshirted that year due to eligibility reasons. He will be a redshirt sophomore in 2016 with two years of eligibility once he enrolls.

No, LMAO has much bigger issues to face:

quote:

A former USC tight end and a former Louisiana State University player, both of whom were kicked off their college football teams for misconduct, are suspected of staging a two-day string of robberies, including a carjacking, across Los Angeles and Ventura counties, police said Thursday. Bryce Dixon, a 19-year-old USC student, and Trey Lealaimatafao, 19, are suspected of committing at least nine robberies, and were arrested Tuesday near USC. For the crimes that allegedly occurred in Los Angeles, both men were charged Thursday with five counts of second-degree robbery, and one count each of carjacking, attempted carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

quote:

After one of those Rampart-area robberies Tuesday, detectives were able to get a description of a getaway car, police said. Acting on a crime alert that contained a vehicle and suspect description, Southwest Division officers stopped Dixon and Lealaimatafao in a car on Van Ness Avenue about 1 p.m. Dixon, investigators said, had borrowed the car from a friend at USC. Police say they found evidence inside the vehicle tying the men to the robberies.
