Watching video on Tory Carter...listed as a FB but at least half of his highlight video is about him playing defense. Any chance he will play defense when he gets here?

No. He wants to and will play FB. Canada actually uses a FB in his offense.

You mean in the passing game? LSU's fullback has always been "used" as a blocker

Yes, Matt Canada is one of the best offensive coordinators and play callers in football. He will use all weapons and do so creatively. I've not been this excited for spring practice in over a decade

Remember how Jimbo used Hester as a FB in 2006? He blocked for runs, but he also moved him around, gave him handoffs, and sent him on wheel and flat routes. He played more like an H-Back than a true blocking FB like Miles preferred.

Canada will move the FBs around and use them in all kinds of ways. Our FBs and TEs will no longer be extra offensive linemen under him. Can't wait.

They ARE blockers. That's what fb's do

While I t's true that this is their primary role, just like with TEs, their versatility depends on the types of guys you are recruiting and how you run the offense. Moore, for instance, is smaller than many of Miles' previous FBs, but he's smart enough about blocking and technique, that he's an effective blocker without having to be a mauler built like Mouton. If you have guys like him or Hester there, they can be more effective with the ball in their hands, without sacrificing blocking.
