I wish they would go "unconventional" with Coach Raymond's pay. You know the guy will be bucking for a promotion one day (soon? not sure of that). Give him a hefty lump sum payment for every 4 or 5* recruits. Add 50% to that for every one of those that is out-of-state. And then double that for every forced turnover by any player that he was primary or secondary recruiter on.

Salaries can be leveraged against. It would be hard for a school to buy him away (which history says he's resistant to anyway) when going against such a pay structure.

Yes, he's that important to LSU football. And by the way, most coaches tend to develop some complacency and then slow down after this long at the same school in the same position. He shows no sign of that. That's worth something too.
