TBF the coach was right.

This dumbass kid said he was "committed 100% unless I change my mind."

yeah, and that's all part of the game. A kid is never 100% committed. Ever. Period. That's a lesson a coach learns as a GA.

The kid can look around as much as he wants. It's not an obligation to go to a school he commits to.

we may not like it, but it's not our life, it's not our decision, and we shouldn't berate a kid for making a choice on college. I prefer kids commit once they are ready to stay committed, but they're kids. They do dumb things.

Anyways, that sucks for TAMU.

At some point, you've got to give Les some credit. Seems like the gradual upgrade in assistants over the past 3-4 seasons may be the thing that turns 9-3 into 11-1 or 12-0.

He may be right (and I agree with his sentiment), but as a coach you just don't say that

No disagreement there. But at the same time, these kids love to say they appreciate when coaches keep it real with then, etc.

A commitment is a commitment but the fact is that coaches come and go as well so there does have to be some fluidity.

He was right?? What is he a receivers coach?

Do you think that if he was offered another WR coaching position at another school for more money his loyalty to A&M would prevent him from hauling arse in an instant?

Do you think that if he was offered any type of coaching position that is considered a promotion from WR coach at another school, his loyalty to A&M would make him stay?

Do you think if a five star WR decided he wanted to attend A&M that A&M's loyalty to this Netherly kid who possibly could be the lowest rated WR on A&M's board would prevent them from cutting ties with him?

the answer is HELL NO to all three questions. If there is one profession where an individual should definitely not speak out about loyalty, it is the coaching profession.

I agree. Everyone needs a lesson in what a 'commitment' is. But it is the system we have built and we have to deal with.

It is funny that moorehead is on his 3rd or 4th job in a very short amount of time. I wonder if he feels commitment is only for players.

At the end of the day, there is no commitment from players, coaches, schools, or even fans. It's all part of the game.

That coach acts like he's been trying to go drink for drink with Sumlin.

Yeah, I know different side of the ball, but Chavis ditch us over a contract clause.. And he was suppose to be all about loyalty. Players like Jamal Adams who were just in their first season were not happy about this.. but they eventually came to say they committed to the program/school and more specifically the HC.

I am fine with a recruit changing his mind as long as it's not way late in the game, especially signing day without telling the coaches. (Eric Fowler) (Gunner Kiel)

Even Gunner Kiel understands how wrong that was and has no ill feelings Miles said he didn't have the chest for LSU.

"When I called him and told him I wasn't coming, I knew he was going to be angry," Kiel told Sports Illustrated. "I know coach Miles. I have nothing but respect for him. I can't get mad about that. I honestly probably would've done the same thing if a young, dumb kid was going to come to my school and he backed out that day and ended up at another school."

So this a&m coach has no reason to go off about loyalty.. there is plenty of time in recruiting right now.
