No, we (the posters) know that what Smith is saying is that Dunham is a very impressive school academics wise, but it's just the way he worded it makes it seem as if Dunham is a school for dummies. He should have said at academically demanding Dunham academy

but back to Stingley, I think he is just getting bad advice from this uncle or whomever is giving it to him. I can understand that you wanna take a step back because you committed real early and now you wanna enjoy the fruits of your hard work by enjoying the recruiting process now. Getting all that attention makes you feel special I know, but you won't find a better school than LSU if you are a defensive back. They are DBU for a reason, FSU doesn't compare, and coach Raymond will still be his coach, so he should think carefully before he does something he may regret.

Last year's average ACT score was 26.7. And the average for the honor students was 31.

I have to call BS on that. Maybe the ACT scores have changed from when I graduated HS in '89 but I was in honors at a very good school and our average must have been around 28 with a much lower average for non honors students.

I don't think it was a coincidence he did this a day after being ranked #185 or whatever it was.

met his sister once playing blackjack at Lauberge. It was like the week after he committed. She told me then that she didn't think he would end up at LSU.

Screw idiots like her who don't support a kid who makes a tough decision. frick the uncle, self serving a hole

A guy goes against these people and commits to his state school, and his family is against him.

Just sad.

Jr, your turning into a man...stick by your intentions. Not your money grabbing uncle's. He has his own agenda.

Went back and read their website...Top 20% of 2016 Grad's was 31. So not all honor students...1 of 5 Graduates.

Ah, God, the wild card in the recruiting game

"Hey Derek, yeah this is the big man upstairs. Listen, Imma need you to pull back from the commitment to LSU. Yeah I know, I have lots of stuff going on in the world right now that I need to attend to -- Middle East and whatnot -- but this is important. Go get those offers bro. Tell 'em I said it was cool."
