I am not an Orgeron basher in the least. While I would rather have had Herman, he was Texas bound. I never though any of the second tier coaches merited strong consideration.
However it still puzzling why the last minute offer to Tagovailoa at the expense of potentially losing Brennan. It's the quintessential "bird in hand" philosophy. How much egg will O have on his face if he has no solid QB's in this class?

We had the best QB class in America. My only explanation is: it must have suppose to have been a secret offer only to appease Lane Kiffin as we attempted to get him to jump.

I've waited a lifetime for QBs like this. We will be set for decades as others can sit and learn behind Lowell and Brennan.

I think it dealt with Kiffin, but I think it was more of a tip off to other recruits to show Kiffin was the plan at OC. If this is the case, it's potentially backfiring now that it looks like Kiffin will coach the bowl games and interview for the Houston job. We could miss out on Kiffin and Brennan because of this.

To be honest he has already had a few head scratching moments since taking over the job. I'm just curious asking this but if we miss out on Moses, Allen, Akers, Wilson, Smith, plus loses one or both of our current qb commits (due to his contradicting comments on which style he wants to run). All this would mean LSU is unable to pull in a top 5/10 recruiting class which we have been so consistent with in the past. If this happens which is looking more likely everyday, then what would everyone's thoughts on O as HC be? Correct me if I'm wrong but was this not meant to be one certainty about hiring O? I really hope I am wrong but I am starting to get a strong feeling that the programs worst days are ahead of us..

O probably wants 2 QBs in this class and one just recently visited AU.

I think O and Brennan have remained in contact on a regular basis since all of this started and they have this thing worked out. O ,I think, will not not do anything to jeopordize losing Brennan. We can only look from the outside and speculate usually thinking the worst is going to happen.
The sky is not falling. This kid wants to be a Tiger more than any recruit in recent memory that I know of.

Why no news about the supposed to happen in home visit last weekends?
Why all of sudden other programs all begin to call Brennan? Did they smell something that fans don't know?

Sorry but everyday there is a new twist to the story and it's like herpes: the gift that keeps on giving.

Tagovailoa is going to BAMA

Brennan is committed to LSU but looking around, maybe the coaches are looking at other recruits and Brennan is not a sure thing talent wise. His stats are good but he may not be SEC championship QB

Recruiting QB's is not a sure thing and this is why we need a great offensive coordinator

Most of the good QB's in this class were taken when coach O took over and watch Brennan's high school film, he has a lot of work to do with his footwork and his long wind up and release. With this said he may end up in the NFL and at this time no one knows.

LSU does not have to hit a home run this year, only set themselves up for next year recruiting, I see no egg on his face

I wonder if Brennan gave Jelani Woods (Oklahoma State's committed pro-style QB) the same phone call that Tua gave him once he got his offer from OSU.

I am hoping that Orgeron is trying to bait Saban recruits some type of way. Just like when Hootie Jones was committed to Bama, then open his recruitment when LSU was on the verge of signing Adams. Once LSU was all in for Adams and left Hootie alone, then he recommitted. Orgeron has been around too long and has been a too recruit to make an obvious error like this. #WishfulThinking

Yes they have talked. They know each other well from attending camps together most recently the LSU summer camp. All recruits talk and I know for a fact these two have talked. Brennan and Narcisse talk regularly. The Elite 11 brotherhood thing. They all talk and trade recruiting stories.

You make that statement looking at our roster of quarterbacks? Etling, McMillan, Scott and possibly Harris?
