The folks at Texas de Brazil better get ready. The LSU football team plans to host one of its largest recruiting weekends in several years this week, welcoming at least 14 prospects, including many uncommitted top targets in the 2017 class. The Brazilian steakhouse normally is the Friday night dinner spot for prospects and their parents or guardians during big recruiting weekends such as this one. Friday’s turnout could be one of the biggest.

Why do they take the players to national chain? Louisiana has the best local restaurants in the country and they do this? Give them a taste of Louisiana and of LSU!

True, but it's probably a safe pick.

Everyone loves steak and other meats. I think it's also to show off Perkins Rowe being one of the nicer spots in BR

You think an 18 year old football player would appreciate a fresh slice of fish meunière or an all you can eat steak buffet more? Hmmmm

You are acting like they only go eat once. They will eat dinner twice, lunch 3 times. There are plenty of chances for them to eat some local food.

A) this isn't their only meal
B) this is one of the most expensive meals in town
C) a 250-300 pound athlete wants all you can eat filet mignon, not 1 piece of pecan crusted fish.

Over the course of the weekend, I've heard LSU has a spread of "Louisiana" foods for the taking. Coach O is from down the bayou. Etouffee for breakfast and loves him some gumbo. Surely he's got things covered on the food end.

Take them to Mike Anderson's. Why not patronize a former player's restaurant?

Sounds like Texas de Brazil has been a very successful choice in the past. Why mess with success?

Went to Mike andersons before the bama game. They have really gone downhill. That used to be my favorite spot.

Because texas de brazil is the shite dude. It's a great atmosphere too. Most places don't have a texas de brazil so it's a unique experience for the recruits and their parents.

I would laugh if ensminger showed up with 5 sacks of crawfish and proceeded to throw down outside the football ops building for all the recruits and family for lunch on Saturday.
