How was the venue switch?

I've only talked to a few who went, but they seemed to think the old set up was better

It was OK. They started too late. So most recruits had signed by the time it started, including Dupre. So we had to go find a TV. Casino wasn't ready in my opinion.

Was it better for only those in the main room or for also those who didt buy $150 tickets.

Talked to my buddy that I've gone with for a while, 34venture, and he said the new set up sucked. He said it was nice that he went gamble for an hour or so in the middle but the actual setup was better at the river center.

Food was night and day worse than in the past. Our table ordered everything on the menu (about 5 options), and it was pretty much garbage across the board. Our tailgate puts out better cuisine for Furman games.

I posted my thoughts earlier today, but that thread got anchored so I will repost:

I went, have been going for seven years now. I was fine with it.

-Here is the deal, from what I have heard the Gridiron Club had to shell out 10k to rent out the RiverCenter last few years. La'uberge cost them $0.
-You had the VIP Tables in a separate room, downgrade from everyone I spoke to who had a table this year.
-All the booth's that outlined the RiverCenter in previous years were upstairs, not nearly as many, but they were there.
-The interviews on stage were broadcast in the Sportsbar, which had every TV on ESPNU, I liked the setup in there.
-They had a Silent Auction upstairs, and LSU memorabilia downstairs for sale.
-They had small bars setup everywhere selling alcohol, or you could go stand by a machine in the casino and get free drinks, pretty simple.
-I went all morning, spent $20 on lunch, watched the John Curtis signings, stayed until Adoree's signing and left, it was better than sitting on my couch or being at work.

National Signing Day is a fun excuse to take off work, drink all day, hang out with Tiger fans, and celebrate our signing class. People make way too big of a deal of it's not the same and blah blah. The fact is the Gridiron Club is starting the event up +$10,000 by moving it, it is a win-win and will never go back to the RiverCenter. NSD is a LONG day, adding the option to gamble at a nice casino during the day is a plus. Yes it was a weak attendance, but I think there was a lot of misconception that you had to buy a $2000 VIP table to get to be a part of it and that was far from the truth. I had access to everything accept the free food and drink. (But I got free drink in the Casino)

Oh without a doubt, not like they get much business on a Wednesday morning in February.

There were definitely things that could have been done better. The restaurant/sports bar should have been ready to open at 8pm. I know they made sure to say it started at 10:30am on the advertisements, but the most fun part of the Bash is being their for the LSU announcements.

But to the guy who said they didn't start selling beverages until 10:30, drink girls literally offered everyone in our area free drinks, and none of us were gambling, we were just in the video poker area watching the TV.

I think the potential is there to make it a great event again, next year's turnout will probably be better. A lot of people were afraid to drive all the way to BR to see how the new setup would work.

I just don't think an event like that needs to be so spread out, it kills the atmosphere. I liked having all the vendors, the band, etc.

Also having it downtown invited more of the people who didn't want to take an entire day off and just drop by for a little bit, L'auberge's location isn't really conducive to that. No point in arguing it though because since they do it for peanuts it'll remain there.

It sucked. The food. The service. The time to get food. The quality of food. The beer. Everything sucked. Horrible first time for Lelost Casino.

I hear ya on some of those things BilJ, guess I didn't think about all the vendors actually helping bring life to the event. I started coming with a vendor myself.
I think they could definitely improve things for next year.

can't take off this time of year anymore anyway, so no skin off my back if they keep it there.
