Why would go to a school that half assed recruited you?

The real melt will come when LSU misses out on the others that are claimed "better" than Bolden.

LSU obviously isn't making him a priority, no issue with him doing what's best for himself.

We'll be ok

I know this board loves the kid, but I just don't see it. He looks like a mid tier D1 talent imo. Just having trouble seeing what a lot of you all see.

LSU supposedly hadn't made contact since camp.. the communication was horribly slacking and like he said it seemed half the staff was on board. Sad to see this because it would've been a great get out of north LA.. you put DJ who is fresh off a GA position and recruiting all over the place and O who has zero time for recruiting right now on a kid we could really use.. we did this to ourselves and got worked by bama and TCU..

I bet he picks bama and then Saban tells him they have no scholarships available. Theres a reason bama offers like 40 kids every year then last minute ask them to greyshirt.

I still wonder though, if the staff was that high on him, he would be getting regular contact from Canada and Joseph who would be his position coach. I get that NLA not their territory, but considering they would be his coaches, I would suspect they would be more involved.

Or, the staff straight up likes Provens, Keys III and Justin Watkins more for that slot receiver position.

I agree. Slade is a jack of all trades and LSU is looking for a master of each.

Yeah that's the only thing that makes sense! Staff must've seen something from someone else and chose to steer the ship in said direction. With that caliber guy if you seriously want him you don't pull those moves. And like you said Canada and Mickey would've made the move themselves to ensure he ended up a tiger

So the head coach and one of the best recruiters in the country wasn't good enough for the kid? Oh well

Uncle JJ said that baseball wasn't likely to be a factor in his decision and that he wouldn't play his freshman year if at all.

Can't blame him at all for going to TCU. I really don't keep up with Bama baseball. Are they any good as I hear he may want to play both?

I don't believe this. I think LSU wasn't as high on him. It could be a Jamal Adams vs Hootie situation.

Doesn't mean he can't be good. Just means they have different evaluations. I'm sure if Bama had a shot with Adams, they would have chosen Adams over Hootie. however, they had the better shot with Hootie.

LSU is at a point where they have let to many difference makers get away. Tim Williams/Cam Robinson, landon Collins etc To compete for the west, they have to go after the guys who they believe can be difference makers. Slade seems like a trey Quinn. Good ballplayer, just not a difference maker. Bama has had the luxury of missing on many non difference makers from Louisiana (Kenny bell, luther davis, robby green, bradly sylve, Cameron simms, etc.) however, they get them other places.
