That's some mighty big words! I like this kid a lot! Is he a lock?

I saw both play extensively in high school. Hester is a totally different style player. Bolden is a complete athlete in every sense of the word offensively and defensive back wise.

Yeah but they're both white....so he must be the next Jacob Hester. Come on man, don't you know anything.

We shall see. I've seen a lot of talent in my day in high school dating all the way back to Kevin Faulk days at Carencro. The best I've ever seen in person is Rueben Randle at Bastrop (not even close to a Bastrop fan so no bias); John Diarse at Neville starting when he was just a freshman putting on a show in the dome and all year; Reggie Mcneal at Lufkin and Dez Bryant years ago (feels like yesterday); Warrick Dunn; etc. etc. etc. etc. I love high school football in louisiana. Talent wise second to no one.

Having said all that, Bolden is the best all-around athlete I have ever seen at the high school level not named Diarse. Diarse was exceptional. Freakish and it is a shame he never fully developed. I pray he will at TCU. Most don't know that Diarse owns the longest interception return for a td in Texas. Yes, texas lol. 104 or 105 yarder out of the endzone against Marshall.

Bolden is faster than Diarse, and just as quick. If he were black he would be a top 5 player at the APB position. I am mixed by the way so race means little to me. Just stating the obvious.

This is sad but has been true for quite some time. RB and CB positions have always been stereotyped.

I'd say it is fair though. Most white boys never develop the fast-twitch fibers like the black athlete. The few who do we know about like McCaffrey.

Bolden trains here in West Monroe at their speed and agility shop with trainers and he is as committed as it gets. My sister works up there and my dad stops in often to see my nephews working out with Bolden and others (not directly, but in the same gym) and says he is always up there working boxes and ladders--the whole bit.

I want to see him show out though against an elite level team at high school level next year though. He didn't set the world on fire against Curtis, Madison Central, or Landry Walker. They start the season off against a very high quality John Ehret team at home. Would love to see him perform big time against an athletic and bona fide defense like theirs.

Yep. Great vision. Great speed. Great ball skills. He could add some explosiveness to our offense almost immediately.

I would agree with you if you were talking WR, but McCaffrey was listed as the #3 APB out of high school. I'm not saying what they will do this year, but McCaffrey has been the only white RB warranting a really high ranking out of high school since they started the ranking system this century.

Bolden looks like a McCaffrey clone so hopefully he will get that high ranking.

I not saying race is not a factor, but you also have to consider he is currently playing quarter back. IIRC I watch them play in the playoffs and he played QB 100% of the game. It maybe that other aspects of his game has not been evaluated such as pass blocking receiving etc. Either way who cares. He is going to be a featured back when he gets here.

Can't really compare the son of an NFL player to a kid from Podunk, LA.

Slade's ranking has more to do with baseball and not being able to go to camps than the color of his skin.

Damn, I'll be honest I never saw the kid play. He is that good? I mean by reading what everyone has read about him so far it sure seems like it.

So no one has answered the question yet, is he a lock to be a Tiger?

Yes he is very shifty and has good vision. From what I saw in the playoff game.

He claims LSU is his dream school and we know how that usually turns out, but I think he is serious about ending up at LSU.

Played against him his freshman year in the dome. They destroyed us that year but had a few Katrina players playing in the game so we ended up getting the Championship by default. He ran the opening kickoff for a TD.

Best player I have seen is Fournette, Never seen anyone dominate games like that in high school. I think he had over 300 rushing yards against a stout STM defense.

Kevin Faulk and Dominick Davis (Now Williams) come to mind as some other guys I have seen totally dominate. Actually watched a Teurlings Catholic team hold Jarvis Landry completely in check in the playoffs.

Played ball with Johnathon Williams who was a four star athlete that signed with LSU. Not sure what he was going to play at LSU except punt and kick returner, could have been a safety or a Wide Reciever. Unfortunately he kept getting hurt and concussions and I believe eventually couldn't play football anymore because of it.

I think Chad Jones was one of the greatest athletes I have ever seen to come out of La. I don't know his measurables, but but he certainly was a freak athlete! Damn shame we never got to see him at the next level.
