Ja'Vonte Smart became the first sophomore to ever win Louisiana Mr. Basketball, as announced earlier today.

Ja'Vonte is currently ranked as the #3 sophomore in the country by 247sports and the #1 PG. He's currently predicted as 50/50 to both Kentucky and LSU.

What's the chances we have a new coach by the time he graduates?

I would say pretty high if Jones has another season like the last.

I would hope Smart would become more interested in LSU if JJ leaves and the basketball head coaching position is upgraded.

I heard that if we hire calipari, he would be very interested.

I thought I read he was going to be leaving Scotlandville and going to a prep school? If that's true, we may virtually have no chance.

While it seems plausible for him to go to a prep given his status as a top flight recruit and the fact that he's already accomplished bascially everything he could possibly accomplish in Louisiana I haven't heard anything from anyone reliable saying he's leaving.

He is a year old for his grade but that should'nt hinder his LHSAA eligbility. I think as long as you're 19 and under youre good.

As long as you don't turn 19 before Aug. 1.
