We need someone who can develop these guys once we get them. The problem we have is we get good recruits come in and they go backwards because there is no one here to help them improve
I think LSU has a staff that can develop quarterbacks, but our problem recently has been the trial by fire with JJ/JL. If a QB comes in and he KNOWS he is the #2 guy, he can focus on all of the small things about playing QB and improve. For the last 4 years, we had guys who came in and needed to learn the playbook ASAP because they were going to be playing almost immediately. It is very hard to break bad habits when you are the starting QB.
Our two commits will come in and be the #2 guys for sure, so they can focus on footwork and release techniques first and the playbook second.
