The other place may just happen to have a position coach the kid wouldn't mind playing for, rather than a school that doesn't know who the HC would be, let alone the position coach.

It's frustrating that we may be handing off this entire d-line haul to Alabama and possibly Ole Miss.

Bama isn't making a play for O. He isn't going anywhere unless he takes a head coaching job

Recruits, not players on the roster, but recruits run college football now. They make no sense. I want to go to LSU. I want to play for coach O. I have no intention of even visiting or ever playing at Syracuse, therefore, I'm going to Bama.

He was silently committed to LSU with the idea that he was going to be playing for Coach O. Now it looks like O might be getting a mid major job. Kirby is selling Lawrence on being the next A'Shawn..

Is that necessarily dependent on the implosion though? Losing Orgeron to a mid-major job was always a concern even if we had gone 14-0 and won the NC.

I know his father through connections. I didn't expect people to like this thread but I would want the info. If signing day were today then Big Ra would be a tiger. But he's now listening to fricking Bama.

Of course, but Bama's front 7 is whipping arse and our D as a whole is terrible. Rashard was excited about Ed O. I'm being told that he's not exactly ecstatic about Kevin Steele without O.

U need to tell him to look at Bama's depth chart along w/ the 3 DT's they have coming in already. He gets on the field a full year sooner for his home state school.

Of course Bama is going to say "you can be this year's version of A'Shwan". But they also said that to a few guys in between the real A'Shawn & Rashard.

I think Ed O is absolutely gone by this time in two weeks.

He'll be here unless he gets offered a HC spot at a decent school. Syracuse is not happening.

I don't talk to Rashard. I've met the young man but I don't contact him. I know his father.

My concern is not the jobs available now. It's the jobs that are going to become available after some of the mid majors make their hires. I pray he and Frank stay.

If O stays, Lawrence is a tiger. LSU still has a shot if he doesn't. But Rashard is a lock if Ed O is on staff.

Right, what a fricking joke... I'd be telling Lawrence the truth, Kirby isn't going to be in Gump land much longer either... linked to S.C.... so he is out too.

Everybody will be looking till we make a hire, no real news here. I dont expect the majority of our targets and commits to not look around at minimum.

Agree 100%... Just think after all these years how we were so excited about getting this guy or that guy and our tigers have still disappointed... Just get a good coach and the rest will fall into place... Geaux Tigers!

No offense to the OP but this is the most useless information. We are going through a bad time so everyone will now say our recruits are jumping off board. No shite but we will also find out who really wants to be at LSU.

Then you don't have to comment on it if it's so useless....prick.

Can't blame the kid. I think any coach worth his salt would want to keep Orgeron on staff though. He's literally on of the few coaches that is a great recruiter and actual coach. He's also a Louisiana guy and I think with the right level of promotion/raise, O would stay on with a longer term contract.

I just don't think he's going to get another HC job soon though, because he's only going to want to go to a Power 5 conference, and the Syracuse talk is just that. They asked him if he'd go back, and he said yes (of course), but that was a reporter randomly asking coaches with previous Syracuse connections if they'd be interested, not their AD.

I posted the same thing after hearing it from another local source but I didn't want to name the recruit. Recruits look for stability and the current situation needs to be resolved quickly. Inevitably, when some of our talent starts looking at other schools some will not return to the fold.
