Tell him Special Teams better pick up the slack this year

You should have asked him how he keeps his job with the putrid performances his units give us.
His STs were they WORST!
After that incompetence was exposed, and folks were screaming for his head, the revisionism became that he's a recruiting genius. This was based in large measure on an article ranking BDP above Frank, The Orgeron etc as a recruiter. The criteria for this implausible conclusion is not known.
Not buying.

My bad. He was just around meeting everyone. Lots of connection with guys here at Ruston.

Related note, have we heard of any changes with STs this year?
I'm not as down on BDP as most and his recruiting is obviously effective, but watching UF game highlights where they showed our STs at 119+ in almost every category was rough
Very limited showing in the spring game

Peveto is a very good recruiter. I do agree that ST's were putrid last year and need to improve.

BDP is a really good recruiter whether people want to acknowledge it or not. Did our special teams suck? Yep. Did they get better? Yep.

you have a problem son. there is no "revisionism" present. the man is a very good recruiter. whatever was wrong with the special teams early in the year was fixed and they played well at the end. no, we do not know the reason as stuff like that is not openly discussed with fans. probably because fanbases contain a preponderance of nitwits.

In my own meaningless opinion, if a coach can't coach up the talent that He recruits, then His recruiting prowess is moot.

Apparently, you don't know dick about shite. When he was rehired, I was told by someone who's worked for Saban and Miles at LSU about how good a coach he is and that the players (current and prospective) adore him. He wasn't brought back into the fold to coach ST, that's just the position that he took over. Works a lot with LB's, too. That said, yeah, ST sucked last year, but his coaching and recruiting abilities are very solid.

Ask him if our special teams are gonna suck again.

Why should it take an entire season for ST's to improve? What is so hard about staying in your lanes and handling your responsibility on that one play? What is so hard about wrapping up a guy when you tackle him instead of just trying to knock him down?
I give no credit for taking an entire season to make those improvements. And I'm not just going to lay it at the feet of BDP. It goes straight to Miles as does the offense. For some reason Miles chooses not to get involved in the defense. He let Steele screw that up last year. I don't buy into the stories that he really tried hard to keep Steele. So to his credit he nicely got rid of Steele and hired a stud DC. I think. We will see.

Wow, could this be any more simplistic/ignorant statement?
Based on this, why do you need to coach it? it's easy, just tell them stay in lane and wrap up. what else is there a need to say or do? l.o.l.
The other team actually has players and scheme too. The large portion of our issue on special teams was a lack of quality kicker conducting the k.o.
The coach, designs the coverage based on the kicker kicking to the right or left pylon. Therefore, the boundary becomes an extra defender. If the kicker kicks the ball in the middle of the fiel when the coverage is to converge on the right pylon, then this could be an issue. which it was.
based on your statement, saban must suck at special teams too. How do you let a guy return a kick 110 yards with one second left to play? it's easy, just stay in your lane and wrap up. what a dumb arse.
