Something is definitely not right in Oxford. This goes beyond good recruiting. Oxford Mississippi? Destination for five stars? Are you kidding me?

They've been very blatant about it too. However, I believe this NCAA violation has nothing to do with boosters funneling money into churches then getting it dispensed to athletes in various forms.

is there something like failure to maintain control that is more severe offense t

As much pleasure as it would give me to see the Ole Miss program in ashes, I don't see how the NCAA can ever charge a school with this after gutting the Penn St sanctions. Paterno and his staff, the AD, the university administration, the campus police, the municipal police, and apparently most of the population of Happy Valley were, at the least, aware of the allegations against Sandusky and for years they allowed children to be raped rather than jeopardize their sacred program. Even when the school tried to fire Paterno for on-field suckage unrelated to child rape he simply said no. They should have been banned from football for a hundred years, the stadium and practice facilities razed and salt sown in the ashes to purge the evil that was Joe Paterno. Ole Miss' lack of institutional control seems quaint and charming in comparison.

That is truth man. That Penn St thing was crazy and I feel like even crazier that no one cared when the NCAA dropped everything.
