Under Armour Game

DT Maquedius Bain - Played sparingly. Other than the QBs, the UA game did not do nearly as good of a job as the Army game of giving adequate playing time to all of the players.

ATH Kendall Beckwith - Committed to LSU in the 1st quarter of the game. Did not start, but played extensively throughout the game. While lining up as an OLB, he made several plays from sideline to sideline, including a couple tackles for loss.

ATH Jeryl Brazil - Got in for a series or two at corner. Was beaten deep on one play, but it was more of a great throw by the opposing QB. Also was deep for a couple of punts, which he had to fair catch.

DT Greg Gilmore - Started the game as a DT. Played the majority of the game and was hot and cold. On some plays, he would rip through the line and get to the ballcarrier (including one sack); while others, he was beaten pretty handedly by the offensive lineman.

OT Ethan Pocic - Apparently was sick this week, so his playing time was going to be limited in this game. It didn't help matters when he dislocated his finger on the game's second play.

Overall, the most impressive LSU commit in the UA game, IMO, was Beckwith.

U.S. Army Game

OG Josh Boutte - Started and played nearly the entire game for the West. He was dominant throughout the game and I never noticed a defensive lineman shooting through his gap.

WR John Diarse - Snagged one reception for roughly 12 yards and also threw a reverse pass late in the game, which fell incomplete. With the lack of timing developed between the teams' QBs and WRs this week, no receivers really stood out - but that's to be expected in games like this.

DL Frank Herron - Started and played the majority of the game at DT, where he was dominant. Recorded 2 sacks and made a few other stops as well. I'm excited to see how he projects for us.

QB Hayden Rettig - First QB in off the bench for the West. Connected on a few short patters with his receivers, but struggled on the deeper throws. He possesses arm strength that is rivaled by few in this class, although he needs to work on putting more touch on certain throws though, IMO. While not the fastest guy out there, he still has the capability to move in the pocket and escape trouble. He also did a nice job checking down to his 2nd receiver on a couple plays - something you don't see often from HS QBs.

TE DeSean Smith - Started at TE for the West and was targeted a few times; one sailing well over his head, another which fell incomplete, but he drew a PI call, and the last, was a 2-point conversion reception. He is one of the guys I'm most excited about in this class, as he has better hands than most receivers.

ATH Tre'Davious White - IMO, the most impressive player in the game. He was a lockdown corner, targeted several times, but allowing only one reception - a comeback route on 3rd down, which fell short of the first. His tight coverage resulted in a coverage sack, as well as the opposing QB looking to his other options. He also returned a couple of kickoffs for 35+ yards each, and was the ballcarrier on a fake punt, which resulted in a first down. Very exciting player, overall.

Overall, the most impressive LSU commit in this game was White.

Thanks for the rundown. I have the Army game recording later. Gilmore possibly saved a return touchdown with his facemask penalty yesterday.

I agree. You don't often see the same guy used in so many different ways in these types of games (i.e. return man, the fake punt).

It would be a travesty if White doesn't get a 5th star. I'm not sure how much more dominant you can be on a camp circuit and all-star game to get that kind of recognition...

He looks a lot like Claiborne. I mean, the similarities are very striking.

As big of a travesty as it would be if this were to happen (or not happen, depending on how you look at it), it really would not shock me.

It's incredible, really.

How did Lawson, Robinson and Patterson look in the OD game?

I don't think Rivals is going to give Herron or White a 5*. Herron has a lot of spots to jump. I believe he'll be borderline. White should jump. He's already borderline 5*.

Lawson and Patterson each had a sack.

Robinson had an int and locked everyone up the whole week there per rivals and 247

Great news. I was thinking that Lawson was going to be one of the guys who drops to compensate for another guy getting a bump (only because he wasn't as hyped as some of the other guys), but a strong performance should help his case.

LaCouture played well, but Cutrer really didn't do anything...but he still had a good practice week
