So as I've been on this board multiple times every few hours, I'm noticing that the attitude of LSU recruiting is changing. O is starting to go after guys from all over and looking for back up plans instead of sitting on our asses waiting for a guy. We are starting to go into places like Alabama and putting up a fighters chance and we are getting guys like Chris Allen to take us seriously again. Good times are coming boys, let's strap in and let's ride

Outside of maybe 2 years Les was a pretty lights out recruiter. As evidenced by the number of former LSU players in the NFL. O has done a good job so far but the bar has been set very high the past decade.

He was good at recruiting talent at positions where we didn't need it. That's why our LB and Lines have been poor lately

Recruiting was always very strong with Les. The differences aren't significant, except the areas of emphasis change every year (except DB's and WR).

What? Our LBs have been one of the more solid defensive units the last 2 years. John Chavis was why our LBers were so poor.

Haven't really noticed a difference. Until LSU actually gets these players, it's just recruiting board chatter.

We went into Bama and got Kwon a few years ago, injured or not. We had Fowler "committed" up until late in the game last year from Texas. Kenny Young got away from us, but he really wanted to get out of state and Cali seems like a place most teens would love to be.

I mean we also had backup plans for guys before as well. It could be a blessing in disguise that Lindsey Scott waited on LSU.

Either way LSU was a recruiting giant before this year and we picked up Thornton, White, Martin, Divinity, Anthony, and Garnett last year, who are all LB/DL prospects. That's not even counting Alexander, Lawrence, Logan, and Roddy, who was weirdly moved to TE.

I mean honestly it's kind of silly of you guys constantly making posts on this board like O is doing something different than what he did under Miles just last year.

Seeming to have back up plans is the biggest thing I'm noticing. For instance, nobody knows who we will end up with at LB, but after striking out on Moses and falling behind on Allen, Orgeron put us in a good place with Willie Gay, Jacob Phillips, Tyler Taylor and Ellis Brooks. It's not impossible for us to go 0-for considering we do not have a significant lead for any of these guys, but we haven't had this many realistic options at a position of need, this late in the game, in a long time. Like I said, it's not impossible we go 0-for, but with O having this many options on the table, there's a very slim we miss out on all of them.

I like it. It lets recruits know they have to shite or get off the pot. Instead of telling them they are so important that we aren't even going to explore alternatives only to watch them bail at the last second leaving dicks in hands.

I like it. the coaches feel better about themselves and convey an aura of happy confidence. that attracts. they are not worried. in the long run, its going to attract champions.

I am pollyanna about LSU football. three plays cost three games. 11-1 in the SEC west would have put LSU in instead of THE Ohio State.

next year, LSU makes the breaks.

Hoping recruiting will be better on the offensive side with the new OC.

The ranking under Miles hid the deficiencies of the classes. He allowed several unbalanced classes and didn't hold the staff accountable for it for too long. Studs and Brick did damage that is just now being rectified with their poor targeting and recruiting. They didn't bring in the numbers we needed and reached when they missed On their few targets.

Did you forget 2015? Under Steele, any LB not named Beckwith and Jones was a liability. We did not have quality depth. Not by any stretch. Aranda did a great job working with what we have, but damn. Do you think Donnie Alexander would EVER sniff the field at Bama? We need to move beyond that. We have had a few amazing guys over the last 4-5 years, but little to go with them or back them up.

Miles was an excellent recruiter. Can't take that away from him.

Coach O won't let a drop off happen.

I'm curious to see if he really puts up a fence in Louisiana.
