For anyone interested he commited to Maryland tomight over UNC/NC St in a bit of a suprise.Have a feeling maybe UNC didn't want him as bad as 1st thought.Either that or they are doing a terrible job recruiting wrs. They lost a long time heavy lean in KJ Brent last week to USCe.

I thought LSU cooled on him and offered Morrow instead.

That's what I meant... it's been that long since I've heard about him.

We turned him downi just posted so that he wouldn't be brought up as an option for us any longer or if anyone was wondering what was going on with him.

According to this article:

Terps pledge Nigel King could've been a Tiger

quote:

King visited Baton Rouge for LSU’s regular-season finale against Arkansas, and soon after, he was ready to offer his commitment -- until Tigers wide receivers coach D.J. McCarthy resigned.

“[The commitment] didn’t happen because of the coaching staff change with Coach McCarthy,” King said. “After that, it just fell apart. So I just went and looked at other schools.”

quote:

“Even when he was thinking early on about LSU and the SEC, you could tell there was a problem,” said Charles Johnson, Wakefield’s wide receivers coach. “I think it was all about the name, but it was not a good fit for him. [People thought], ‘Oh my God, LSU offered you a scholarship.’ But you can tell it wouldn’t have been a good choice for him. For the process, I let him find out for himself. I just made sure I walked him through it.”

Sounds like a lot of confusion going on.

My guess is we tried to backburner him and see what happened with some guys higher on our board. Haven't read anything recently though.

How does he not fit? LSU graduated 2 WR's and 2 more left for medical reasons. After Toliver graduates, Randle and Armand Williams will be the only big tall WR's left.

Not LSU/SEC calibur. The competition in NC is not very good, and he isn't exactly dominating that competition. Maryland/ACC is a better fit for him.

He is LSU/SEC calibur...that's why we offered. We just have other WRs higher on our board.
