I agree Deuce. So where are the carries for Williams and Guice? Also the catches for Dupree and the other receivers? There's only one football.

Considering we'll be playing 15 games for much of the next 5 years, he'll have plenty opportunity

A guess of the 2016 season when the 2014 class will be seasoned and 2015 class experienced.

QB 380-390 attempts
Fournette 260-270 carries = 17.3-18 carries per game
QB 100 carries = 6.6 carries per game
Williams 100 carries = 6.6 carries per game
Guice 80 carries = 5.3 carries per game
Brossette 70 carries = 4.6 carries per game

Where are the carries for Lane? What about Brown? What about catches for Thompson. Will, Grier and Treon cut deep into the carries also?

Never said one time I've spoken to Nick. Nick has a great family around him and doesn't need my input or anyone on this boards input.

Vermillion you are better than that. Nothing personal at all. Cheer for LSU for every game but one. I'm sorry for giving insight. It's not personal as some on here seems to think when someone goes anywhere other than LSU

I would at least understand if your argument for him going to Texas was valid, but it isn't. The depth chart is very similar with Fournette probably getting a handful more carries a game than everyone else. If those few carries is the backbone of your argument over home state and going to the lab school then I don't know what to tell you.

So let's look at the competing depth charts for 2015 at RB:

LSU:
Fournette (Soph
Williams (Soph.)
Brossette (TrFR)
Guice (TrFR)

Texas:
Johnathan Gray (Sr. - could go pro this yr)
Daje Johnson (Sr. - could go pro this year)
Jalen Overstreet (Jr - athlete, could be used elsewhere)
Donald Catalon (Will be Soph)

+
Jordan Stevenson (TrFR)
Tristian Houston (TrFR
Nick Brossette (TrFR)

I think people forget this isn't about LSU it's about what's best for Nick. LSU understands that they are so heavily invested in Fournette that he's there man for 3 years regardless! Any other running back that gets caught up in those 3 years are just collateral damage.... That's his or any other backs reality for 3 years!

this is ignorant. I guess hill shouldn't have followed hillard since he came in with hype or Magee for that matter.

You can go back through lsu history, gary james had as much hype as fournette, dalton hillard won the job. Kevin is probably the mosted hyped, Mealy and cecil collins found their place. In fact if collins doesn't get arrested, he would have been the starter.

Jermain williams came in with a lot of hype and couldn't be the starter. Jermain Sharpe, Kevin Franklin, Rober toomer, lebrandon toefield. Guys like Jay johnson, dom davis, eddie fuller etc beat them out.

How about Justin vincent, five star, all freshman, n.c. and s.e.c. champ game m.v.p., couldn't even win his job back the next year.

The last few years we saw five star spencer ware lose the starting job to alfred blue and kenny hillard only for them to lose it to Jeremy Hill.

To think miles/lsu is so invested in one guy for the program is just ludicrous and ignorant.

The arguement is Texas has a new coach and a new beginning. Strong will want his guys he recruits to play.

so even if the other guys he doesn't recruit are better, he won't play them?

Now you are really stretching out your argument.

I honestly do not understand this reasoning. Name one RB in LSU's recent history that was mismanaged. Every single one was given a chance. It's probably the best situation in CFB. You don't get run down, play by committee, get big time numbers and enjoy a longer career in the NFL for it.

Not to mention, with Cam Cameron here, we are already in a pro style offense so the transition is even easier. To me, it really is an ideal offense for a runningback.

He still gets to compete. With Fournette there will be no competition and WE all know that!!!

and that is not true at all. I hope he reads this because that statement is FALSE.

LSU does not ride kids into the ground and depend on one person to carry the ball. Why in the world would you even want to be the only RB in a system. Play by committee and make it to the NFL. Leonard won't get all the carries. It will be shared by four of them.

I agree Duckie but you are talking about a 17 year old kid that's thinking NFL right now. LSU is a great school for a RB no doubt but you have to think like the kid.

It's a dream school for a RB. Sit back a year, let others get their touches, play for a couple of years, and go off to the NFL to make money.

LSU is a great opportunity for any RB....I agree! But 4 deep there's no way. Sorry guys. If you are being real and not a fan there's no way you see that happening all 4 get their due

What's the difference of him going to LSU and coming to Texas? Would he not have to beat out RBs at Texas too?

100% agree with you. But man, kids, especially RBs need to be more focused on the committee around them. RB careers don't last long and you don't want to get worn down in college.

Truth is, Brosette would be fine in either place. There is no wrong choice there. BUT, why leave the state when you have a better (at least in my opinion) situation in your backyard. You want to be behind kdis like Leonard. Competition breads success and cameras are always around. It's just a good environment.
