Randy Rosetta ?@RandyRosetta 14m
Seeing for the second time in as many days that swing man Ilker Er, a Turkish native, has committed to #LSU. Not confirmed yet.
From Turkey originally, played in Florida this last season. Averaged 14.1 PPG, 44% from 3 at Arlington Country Day last season (loaded team with DI talent in FL). Is 6'7 195 and plays SG/SF. Perfect type of player Johnny Jones loves.

So I guess this is related to Corban Collins?

Ilker Er is still not an LSU basketball commitment, despite his claims. That could change, w/ a scholarship maybe open, but has no offer now

Yeah I saw that too, hate when people break things too early. He committed to Rhode Island a month or two ago and apparently didn't have an offer.
I see this probably going through now with a scholarship opened up.

CJJ keeps pulling rabbits out of the hat
I hated how there was no speculation before.

He seems like a pretty good player. Leading scorer for a good team that had a bunch of D1 players on it.

The highlight video shows me a guy Johnny Jones would definitely want.
6'7 able to play multiple positions
fairly athletic
great shot, especially from outside which we lack beyond Stringer

And a great high school to get your foot in the door with

Exactly what I was thinking, if you look at this class and the targets CJJ is going after you can see he is trying to do this. Mickey- Prime Prep, huge bonus. Simmons and Russell at Montverde, and now with Er. The guys we are recruiting hard out of Memphis/TN, are important. Victor @ St. Aug.
As for the actual player Er, interesting to see what position he plays, but definitely could be a 3/4 tweener ala Hammink, Coleman, Martin, Mickey. See a pattern

I definitely think he's a 2/3 tweener. I'd think he'd do very well at SG.

Er is definitely a SG/SF. Really slim body and a 3 point shooter. Not often you see 6'7 SG's in college but they exist in the NBA and he could definitely play that in college.

While this is an very lazy comparison, no reason he couldn't be a shorter Hedo Turkoglu.

Dude you're comparing a high school kid that hasn't been confirmed to have gotten an offer from us yet, and has already prematurely committed to the likes of Rhode Island, to a guy who has had all star type seasons in the NBA.. What're ya doing?
Edit: I realize you said it was a lazy comparison

They are both Turkish, so even though Hedo is 3 inches taller and 30-40 lbs. heavier, they are comparable . . .
because they are both Turkish.
Love it!
