finally saw Mitch Rob in person last night... I'd venture to say we've never had a more well-known student, nor has anyone taken the amount of selfies he has lol... i kind of feel bad for him...
i mean sure you see him and think "well he might be good at basketball", but he didn't ask to be 6'11" or have all the recruiting gurus he's never met rank him

It would be nice if this was true, however neither Dale, Brady , Trent or Johnny Jones have been able to make significant recruiting inroads in New Orleans.
Jordy Hultberg is the highest career scorer from New Orleans . Other than Randy Livingston who else has been signed out of high school from New Orleans?

I keep hoping sooner or later a big time recruit or two will be signed and make a breakthrough in New Orleans. All we need is for a couple of players to break the trend and make LSU relevant in New Orleans. Then they will begin to truly own the state.

I am sure they are pushing as had as they can to get his commitment.
One thing in their favor may be that Robinson did not grow up in New Orleans so he does not have that natural antipathy toward LSU basketball that has historically existed with New Orleans recruits.

I don't know how the potential recruits feel about the coaches, etc., but maybe they see LSU for what it has been? For example, Greg Monroe, well every kid would play at Georgetown over the LSU program since Dale Brown...

I know there's some A&M fans in our Violet set, and that's not Mitch Rob, but that's most of his teammates and the ones that brought him here... for our sake if that is true, glad it's out of the way before basketball practice starts

Adidas putting in that work. I'm going to be straight up, if a kid plays for an Adidas AAU team you can write them off. Second I heard he was playing for New Orleans Elite next summer I knew we had no shot. If we can get him to switch to Lousiana Elite or Elfrid Payton Elite he'll decommit. Kevin Knox is one to watch for in 2017. 5 star stretch 4 out of Florida, plays for E1T1.

my favorite is when he catches an alley oop off the backboard and then flies downcourt to swat a Holy Cross kid on the fastbreak...
