Of course it makes sense....NOW. Not sure who the HC will be, not sure if O will be retained, etc.
There is PLENTY of time to make an excellent hire and see what happens.
And, no one recruit (or even class) is worth NOT making the right hire

LSu was the leader until yesterday and he didnt completely cut LSU. Said he will wait for coaching hire to make final decision.
