Well I'm impressed with all these backs we have. Not the fastest guys but they do what backs need to do well to be successful and that's have balance, vision, patience, and know how to set up blocks. All these guys do that extremely well while running with power.

People are nuts to say these are 3* no bodies because it just isn't remotely true. No they don't stand out among the best in the nation but they are quality recruits that do the important things very well and it fills our needs.

You don't need a team full of All Americans, you need a team sprinkled with All Americans in the right spots, quality depth, and junior/senior leadership across the board with coaches that know how to put them in positions to win. LSU has tons of talent people. What is LSU usually missing every year? Depth to help that talent, a great QB, and usually are young in key areas. If that is fixed we will win lots of ball games. If LSU wins the talent will pour in from all over not just in LA. Even when we have an ok season we have talent pouring in, just look at 2019.

The folks freaking out, just stop you look silly. Starting to look like CNN and the liberal snow flakes where you have to make up an issue because the person can't stand just might do things that make him look GREAT in the end. HTTDB

Agreed. Look at the 247 film - very good vision and balance and once he's past the line the DB's don't catch him. With an SEC RB, give me vision and balance over pure speed any day.

My guess is LSU is letting whoever wants on board now that's good enough to commit now. Later if we get people on our board that's much higher then will process the ones they don't need. Crappy tactic but necessary in recruiting. Take anyone you think now who could be a starter or a good player once they develop past a project. Sort through what you have later in recruiting closer to signing day when the higher players on your board are finally off the fence.

Anyone who thinks LSU doesn't need elite blue chips to compete against someone like Bama and win consistently is blind. Nothing is wrong with these 3* guys but if you want higher ambitions you have to aim at the highest. I do think some of these guys are underrated and will get a bump but I also think some are questionable. You're fooling yourselves if you think LSU doesn't need as many All-Americans as they can get on the roster. 1 impact player can change the entire game that's like having just 5 solid starters.

Regardless, I think Carter has a permanent roster spot. He looks great to me and probably underrated for his ranking.

they will soon be a 4 star.

I'm not sure if this is wishful thinking or just denial. We are loading up on 3*s like we haven't done in over decade. We will likely end up with more 3*s than we've ever had since before 1999.

This statement is no closer to fact than those who think all of the 3* guys will bump to 4 an 5*. Everybody needs to chill and let this play out.

Guess you missed the new ESPN 300.........cause your wrong. Class will be 4star heavy with a few 3s and 5s mixed in as per normal yet will fill more needs than the previous regime.

I explained in my thread on it why. Shea Dixon basically alluded that all those same kids where getting bumps by 247 ALSO after their camp performances. So when the 247 rankings are updated I'll use that also.....

Ed O knows talent when he sees it. I trust his decision making. He was the one who found Arden Key, thanks coach.

We weee never getting joiner. Better options at Rb and the Bama schools were getting him. Guaranteed.. he used Lsu to get his way. He's an athlete and AU & gumpies wouldn't let him leave state.

To be fair you are going by ESPN recruiting rankings. Everyone who follows recruiting knows 247 composite is the only real ranking that holds serious weight.

That being said, the bump will likely be after the opening and expect to see many new 4 stars.

Annually one of the top four teams in AA. Pre-district schedule is always loaded with higher-class schools.
