Obviously some variance from recruit-to-recruit but are these the main factors that enter the decision making process?

15% Proximity to family
40% Comfort level with school & staff
15% Prepare for the next level
15% Early playing time
15% Opportunity to play for championships

Others? How would you weight them?

It's different for every recruit. There's no way to weigh it across the board.

That's supposedly a main reason the Stephenville QB (#2 QB-DT) is going to Texas Tech.

I wish I had recorded the Under Armour survey a year or two ago since at the game they asked the players to rate the factors in deciding on a school. Your first 3 listed I believe were the first 3. I thought I remembered Early PT being even less than 15% but regardless, every single recruit almost lists it first....ala George Brown Jr, ala Speedy Williams in 2016 class, etc. The championship deal is not that big. Just think about it...if you had a choice to make it to the NFL (3rd factor you listed) or have a NC college ring, wouldn't be a close choice for me. One involves your livelihood for years and years and a LOT of money. The other is a 1 game event.

How 'bout that. Maybe I'm not that out of touch with this generation.

I had the privilege of playing on a HS state champion team in football. While different in degree from what we're discussing, I don't know how I would place a dollar figure on it. So for me, the opportunity to play for a championship would be more important. Just me.

I agree with that totally. I also think the factors in a recruit's decision stem from their background. An upper middle class recruit is probably more concerned about the overall education, campus life and championship game chances than the possible pay day that maybe a lower class recruit eyes as most important.

It's not very important to a high schooler's mind.

bullshite. Why do the most successful programs get the best kids?

Winning trumps all. Why Do you think LSU rose back in favor with recruits all of a sudden?

This. One kid may want to go across country and want a good education while another says frick education I want to stay in Alabama. Whats important to one kid may not even be on the radar for another.
