We have a number of recruits with outstanding character and leadership traits in this class. Men like G. Brumfield and B. Harris seem to be the natural leaders that will bring us to the next level. Having the number one running back in the country staying home playing football in front of his family and the best fans in the south is a thing of beauty. These three young men will be a strong foundation upon which CHAMPIONSHIPS will be built. Build your house on solid rock, not shifting sand. ST

we've recruited some shite heads too, brah… don't go get all preachy, assuming guys who don't come here are thugs, while all we get are choir boys who can ball….

it is, however, if he would have pledged Bama, would you include him in your assumption?

I hate when people say this, all programs want kids with high character, all programs still end up with some kids who are dunderheads too. We clearly have had our fair share of headscratchers.

No - but it can be the difference maker - all other things being equal.

Nobody needs a thug. It just so happens that some really good athletes happen to have personal problems. This in no way means that any team needs a thug. These thugs need to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. He makes EVERYTHING better!!! Guys with high character are better representatives of their school and usually have a better work ethic. It does not mean that they are better, BUT in means that their life is void of as many off the field issues, and that they have direction in their life. I agree with the original post 100%. It appears that we have some great student athletes coming to LSU. Will be fun to watch them compete for National Championships!

A huge thing about Jeryl Brazil in addition to his skill was supposedly his character. I was shocked when he caused the problems he did once he got to BR.

Sometimes you just don't know.

Nobody from Loranger High was surprised, and not many from Tangipahoa Parish, I can promise you that.

An individual involved with the LSU program for more than the past 10 years told a person close to me that LSU has too many 'punks' on its team right now and not enough 'thugs'.

Patrick Peterson not a thug. Eric Reid not a thug. Reuben Randle not a thug. Jacob Hester not a thug. Morris Claiborne not a thug. Matt Flynn not a thug. Nobody needs a thug. Stupid answer!

This the big picture...fans of all sorts that are losers outside of football try to be winners by being a part of a winning team...think 'tards...
and the fan base wants to win at almost all cost...that's true all across the entire world, not just in America...therefore they put incredible pressure on coaches to win at all cost...that's why coaches cheat in ways we have seen just this year...so, to keep making those millions of your dollars, they extend and pretend + whatever else is necessary, especially recruiting troubled athletes that are violent and fast...example:Cecil Collins was not a saint in H.S., R.P. either, B.C. either...these young men had problems long before entering LSU...do a little research...go look in the mirror and you will get a glimpse of the problem....jmho
