We have ten spots left and will fill it mostly with 4-5 star players

See Tyron Johnson, donte Jackson, Dylan Jackson, Kyle Phillips, daylon Mack; Toby weathersby, Leo Lewis, Jamal peters, ugo amadi, Holton hill, etc

First of all, ESPN recruiting services are the worst. They don't even visit most areas of the country to evaluate. Secondly, its still very early. I will say though if LSU does not finish second in the West by most services, then we have a problem.

We are in a GREAT spot for a LOT of big names and have around 10 more commitments to go. Don't fret, friend.

The one thing I have to say about number 1 is how can you dream of coming out second when you are the one keeping score.

If we had 11 5*

2nd in the west would still happen

Not sure we get as many 4 - 5 stars as we think. Hope not but odds are that we might end up with a handful of 4 stars then the rest are 3 stars.
Not going to be a Top 10 recruiting class unless we close stronger than ever this year.

Of all the reoccurring RB threads, this one is the least favorite. Every year it's the same. LSU has so many whales, that by definition it comes down to the period from the All Star games until signing day. It's the same EVERY year.

Now if you want your class wrapped up with a bow tie by the end of October, you must have LOVED Texas circa the last crappy five years.

No way in the real world this class is 6th in the SECW. Don't worry about ESPN. They don't do recruiting real well. We ok!!!

Slow your roll pimp. Auburn and TAMU have pretty damn good classes and both are still top two or three in a lot of 4 star and 5 star recruits' lists.

I'd be happy with a top 10 finish.

Take a look at the number of recruits in those classes. Using the composite:

Bama #1 23 recruits
TAMU #7 21 recruits
Auburn #10 20 recruits
Ole Miss #15 16 recruits
MSU #16 26 recruits
LSU #17 14 recruits

You see now? Let's say we pull Tyron Johnson at the UA game. We just got Moreau also which would give us 244.52. That would place us at 12th. Every team in the top 10 as of right now, has at least 18 commits. All but two have at least 20. Being at 12th on January 1st with only 16 commits, and all the guys we are still in the running for, makes getting a top 10 class, almost guaranteed.

Sounds a lot like last year when we lost out on a lot of people.

And 3 of those players LSU got near-last minute were Leonard Fournette, Jamal Adams, and Tashawn Bower.

I'd say a bit more than "freshman contributors on special teams".

The number of recruits plays a large part in the rankings. In Feb. it should look much better.
