LSU Gymnastics welcomes 7 freshmen gymnasts

Desiderio, Campbell, Durante, Dean all have scholarships.

The one from Mandeville is qualified for TOPS but will also get the benefits of being an lsu athlete

Both also have scholarships.

Last years roster wasn't completely full. Plus with a transfer that opened up more money! If I'm a betting man, not all 7 new girls will finish here. I'm sure one of them will end up transferring at one point to get more time like Kaitlyn did, it's what happens when the roster is full and stacked


I expect Desiderio to step in immediately and be a major impact. She is essentially a lock on floor and should be on beam.

She competed a double twisting yurchenko while elite. I think she will compete a 1 1/2 here so it wouldn't shock me to see her on vault also.

Durante and Dean are the favorites to replace that last bars spot


I really don't see Standley ever contributing anything major here. She was recruited for depth purposes, she also comes from Lexis gym, a prestigious one that develops good foundations with all their gymnasts


Edwards was recruited specifically for vault, extremely powerful but she is capable of tumbling

And Campbell is working her way back into shape now, she had a ankle surgery I think.

The 2019 and 2020 classes are absolutely stacked right now.
In 2019, Bailey Ferrer and Kai Rivers are talents that are very much like Kennedi Edney, they can be elite on essentially all apparatuses. Caitlin Smith is an amazing talent as well, she is all the way out in New Jersey

Is crazy good, two elite gymnasts, both who will be national team members by next year. And Haleigh Bryant is probably one of the best/if not the best talents at the level 10 level. Then we add Emma Kelley who in my opinion is much more advanced than mckenna. She is amazing vaulter and beamer but is incredible on floor as well


It will be interesting to see what happens with 2018's class now that Desiderio is now here.

Also keep an eye out on Trinity Thomas, we are in her top 5. She visited LSU in the spring.
