Patrick Swilling is about to visit Mississippi State. No visit to LSU is in the works.

I really think that it's good that we look to passing on him. Just seems like it would create a log jam for a prospect that barely made a dent at an A-10 school.

I agree. I only wanted to offer him if we didn't get Hammink or Coleman, or someone like Turner transferred.

I think someone still could transfer. It wouldn't surprise me at all. Really the only two guys that I absolutely don't want to see leave are Hickey and O'Bryant. I think we're good with O'Bryant but the Hickey baby stuff concerns me. He's a really solid point guard that we need.

I would say Hickey is better than solid. In an uptempo system he has All Conference ptentially. He is one of the few guys you see who seems to be faster when dribling a basketball.

Bubba,

In an up-tempo game, how do you foresee the minutes playing out for our key players? Will a faster pace reduce their minutes?

I dont think Stringer will transfer. Not sure about Turner. I would hope not though. Coleman will probably start at the 3 and move Turner down to his natural position which is good for him and us. Outside of Stringer no one is going to be pushed out of the starting lineup, so there is no need for anyone who starts to transfer at this time.

I truly think Morgan & Coleman will start which means Morgan will push Turner for his spot

Stringer/Turner transfer would be a cop out. Both guys need to be challenged because they both regressed last year. They were getting open shots playing off Hamilton and they were horrible. They didn't force shots like they had to freshman year. A transfer isnt the Rx. Having newcomers challenge them is what the dr. orders.

How many scholarships do we have left?

I count 10, so three left with 1 coming available next season (Ludwig)

You have to think that we will have some transfers in order to sign all of these new guys. Especially with the strength of the 2013 Louisiana crop.

Although ideally JOB plays well enough to go pro. We sign Okafor and Odoh and still have 3 for next year.

6 available, with Swilling we have filled 4. So that leaves 2 more for this year. Ludwig is the only senior.

Doesn't have the chest to play at LSU.

Disclaimer: I am not saying LSU will get this guy, or will even try, but it looks like a top 2013 big man may be trying to move to 2012.

Tony Trocha is a mystery man, spoken about in hushed tones like Batman and Zorro. Just in the states for a short period of time in Houston. He's been compared to Anthony Davis and Nerlens Noel. He is projected to eventually be a 5-star when more scouts have seen him play.
quote:

@EvanDanielscout: The current word on Tony Trocha is he went home to take his standardized test. Then he plans to go to college in 2012.

By the way, home is in Colombia.

Tony Trocha

Larry Brown at SMU just hired Houston's top recruiter away, many think in a bid to get Trocha, who was considering Houston.
