agreed...even if he only hits 250 but plays great defense then he is good in my book

All I can think about is pitching for the next few years. We will be stacked. Hopefully Kramer will turn things around and be a valid SS for us next year.

I think Byrd will be our shortstop the next 2-3 years, personally.

In a perfect world, I would like Byrd at SS, Deichmann at 3B, and Kramer at 2nd.

I agree and I do think Deichmann makes a huge leap forward. It's not fair to judge his production or lack there of with the injury he came off of.

The infield will be young but extremely athletic in '16.

I just wonder about kramer's bat. I hope he can pull it together because we could use his defense out there next season.

Adam: I agree about Deichmann. Injury and lack of opportunities to transition haven't given him the best chance just yet. We could use his power at the plate next season.

Are any of the JUCO guys draft risks? Seems like Adams would be, as power bats are always at a premium.

i'd go as far as saying we shouldn't judge any of the freshmen's bats right now...most came in as "not immediate contributors" but tons of upside

the jordans, byrd, deichmann, pap will all improve greatly between year 1 and 2

I'm not worried about Pap as a hitter. I think he is one of the better hitters of last years cycle and he can hit both sides. Good behind the plate, too. I have high expectations for him next season and beyond.

I don't see any of the JUCO guys as huge draft risks. Adams potential the highest risk, but I think it's a forgone conclusion he'll be a Tiger with his two teammates.

I think McKay is the only one we should worry about. I honestly don't think we see him at LSU. Other than that, the rest should be good to go.

Ducote's bat will be impossible to keep out of the lineup. I just don't know if he'll catch much, if at all.

C-Papierski 1B-Adams 2B-Byrd SS-Robertson 3B-Reichmann LF-Fraley CF? RF-Beau Jordan DH-Zardon is this close, obviously I don't have a Centerfielder, but are the projections close?

More or less that's as good a guess for now. Ducote and Freeman may take the LF and DH spots respectively.

Fraley will have the most range and barring a return of Laird or Stevenson I do think so.

I thought the same thing about Kramer Robertson once.

Does anyone know anything about this Taylor kid from Picayune/PRCC? His stats aren't very overwhelming...

From what I've read and the video I've seen of C Ryan January he looks like a impact player, if we can keep him.
