Interesting to see Jacob Taylor that high, pretty pedestrian stats in JUCO this season. He must throw really hard?

Mid 90s I think I read.
ETA: This doesn't warrant a new thread, and isn't recruiting related, but I just found something awesome for anyone tracking our guys in summer ball.
LINK
That link is to Greg Deichman's spray chart for all of his Northwoods League games. I didn't know they did stuff like this on their site, but it will definitely be something good to add to those summer league updates on the Rant.

Deichmann is already in a summer league? Who else is out where?

I think Ryan May is up in the Northwoods League too.

Hopefully we don't lose more than one recruit. Can't wait for Monday to see the future of the Tigers and my astros!

That was posted on top of this page as Top 500 prospects.

Ryan January is most likely gone. I think that is a reason why we took that LSU-E catcher. The rest it just all depends on who drafts them and how much money they have leftover after they sign their first round pick.

I would think this would hurt his draft stock not help

He's a big kid with some power too, he might be able to play a little first base as well with Adams.
Man, I still wish we'd have gone harder after Steven Sensley. 21 HRs at LSUE this past season. Still think he'd be a helluva linebacker too.

More confirmation on mckay from Rosetta LINK

If McKay does make it in, I want him at closer if he cant beat out Latz for #3 rotation spot. He would be filthy there.

Steven Sensley.
I've been boasting about this kid all year. Sucks ULL is getting another huge power guy from our own satellite JUCO
Granted ULL has just been singing a ton of kids from LSU-E and the majority of them arent working out.

It would be a stiff competition. He would be a good closer but at 6'5 220 he is a starter all the way

It would likely be for just a year, maybe 2 at most. I dont imagine Poche being a guy that is signing a pro contract after his junior season.
If Godfrey gets his control and Latz is everything he was made up to be the competition for #3 starter next year will be intense between those 3.

One thing I've noticed is that we don't seem to use our mid week games as a way to groom a starter for the next season. Basically we either throw a starter that won't ever pitch on weekends or go wholestaff. No value judgement here, it seems to be working. But I think it means if McKay isn't in the rotation, he'll be in the weekend bullpen vs mid week starter.
