I feel bad for the kid, but luckily LSU is not known for pulling schollies due to injury. Didn't multiple SEC schools back off Kwon whenever he was injured? Les honored his scholarship the entire time.

Yes, LSU did for Kwon and also for Davon Godchaux.

but Narcisse's ceiling is much higher.

In what ways? How in the hell does his weight make him have a higher cieling? He has matured earlier and is a help of an athlete.
But a higher ceiling than an all American, soon the be 5*, great qb? That's a reach to me.

They both are exciting to have as Tigers. The injury is brutal and a setback at a crucial time of development for a hs senior.

Did both of his tears come the same way? Was it running or rolled up on?

Les Miles honored Delvin Breaux's scholarship and made him a "player coach" after he broke his neck. He never played a down for LSU and left school after a short time but he could have stayed for the full four year ride if he wanted to.

Is #8 the guy that used to play DE for LSU a few years ago?

What was wrong with his last post? The "Narcisse has a higher ceiling because he's bigger" argument is dumb. Plus, the kid hasn't played much HS football for two years, and he's already seen as pretty raw.

ETA: We're talking about two different posts...

He will be fine. More time to study the game and focus on recovery. He is strong and determined, it will be a minor bump on the road to success.

I knew it wouldn't be long before the jackasses turned this into a LN vs MB thread. Praying for a speedy recovery LN.

This kid has been through a lot more adversity than most kids his age and is mentally prepared to make another comeback. This is the type experiences that molds someone who handles pressure better than most.

A few tweets LN has posted since his injury...

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to past, it's about learning to dance in the rain

My only options is to fight and be stronger

Trouble don't last always

I swear this year have made me a man

He knows the road ahead of him is going to be rough, but he is built for this and will come out of this stronger than before.

Thanks for posting those comments. Shows the character of this young man. Proud to have him as a Tiger.

As to any discussion of LN vs MB, how about "both"?

And before some idiot responds about a 2 QB system "That never works", the Florida and Ohio State natty champ teams say "hello".;

It's not super unusual to tear both. Whether a congenital weakness in the ligaments or overtraining to compensate for the first injury, idk.

Thanks. That's what I was wondering. Guys think I'm being an ads, but it wasn't intentionally. Use the rb, position, or safety, or ot......if a player tore 2 acl's in high school and had to get ready for a top 5 program with returning starters and top recruits at his position, that player would be a long shot to play.
The guy is a phenomenal talent. So is Brennan, who is a more polished passer (but not close physically to LN)
Can't wait to see them both healthy competing.

The part you're missing is this isn't 1987 and ACL tears aren't the death sentence they once were. Especially considering Dr. James Andrews is the one who will have repaired both of his, who is unanimously considered the best in the world at this particular procedure. Add to it that neither of those guys will be counted on as true freshmen, and that expected rehab time for Narcisse puts him on the field for spring practice. You're writing him off when in reality this will probably have very little effect on his LSU career.

You aren't being just an arse, you're talking out of yours.

Nope. I feel the same about him starting at qb for us as I did the day before his injury. The injury just adds to the obstacles.

You're writing him off

Nope Not even close.

I know of the advances in surgery. He won't be rushed to get back. I'd be interested to see/hear of others that tore 2 acl's in high school and were or were not as athletic as before and went on to play championship level college ball.

I'll be honest, I have no clue on those stats, but rather assumed very few have done it.

I see your point, he could be stronger thatn before in a couple of years.

Good luck to the young man. He lives LSU and we will stand behind him.

It's not high school but hasn't Thomas Davis of the Panthers torn his acl like 4 times. He has adapted and continued to play at a high level on the defensive side of the ball, a quarterback can still be effective and lose some mobility. It's in his hands, I believe in the kid!

I cannot find anywhere that he graduated. He is not listed as an alumnus. I did find this on his wikipedia site.

quote:

Breaux fractured his C4, C5 and C6 vertebrae during a kickoff return in a high school football game on October 27, 2006. He had earlier received a scholarship to play football for the LSU Tigers. The Tigers honored his scholarship and he arrived at LSU in December 2008 but was never cleared to play. He was a player-coach for the Tigers. Breaux eventually stopped going to practice and later left LSU.

I don't see the word graduated anywhere.
