I'm thinking Keytaon Thompson will be the 2017 QB for LSU, and possibly another as well.

Really like Keytaon. He's a legit dual threat. It's like Dwayne Haskins with WR legs. Going to jump big in the rankings next year.

Whether we get Lowell or not, we can not let Keytaon out of our own backyard.

I honestly don't know much about him. How good is he, and do we really want him? I've grown tired of the dual threat, project quarterbacks we seem to pursue. Give me a guy who can stand in the pocket, make the throws, and can move a little in the pocket when he needs to. We've got guys who can do the rest. Thoughts?

Spot on Bill. We need a guy to complete a 3rd and 6 to get the first down. You know the way to beat LSU is to stack the box and force the O to complete that 3rd and short. Keeps the D fresh and we control the clock. With Mett I was never really worried about 3rd down and short. Dude couldn't run out of site. But at the end of the day u have to trust your coaches.

Narcisse's throwing ability is really underrated. He's a phenomenal athlete, no doubt, but he can also sling it.

Like Brandon Harris? And Franks?

You know Jennings is a throw first QB, right?

I think what you're asking for is an I-Form QB that can play under center

He might as well be asking for a dinosaur. Statue QB's are a thing of the past. Look at the new generation of NFL QB. Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, Teddy Bridgewater. A mobile guy who can make throws downfield will absolutely kill a defense.

ETA: Rodgers is kind of starting to fall into old guy territory.

I don't know about that. His ability to move in the pocket while keeping his eyes down field, is probably his greatest physical gift next to his strong arm. He will also still run when need be but his hamstring issue limited his ability to take off in last season's playoffs. Now Tom Brady & Philip Rivers would definitely fit the mold of that endangered dinosaur you are talking about.

I meant more that he is definitely a Veteran now and not a new guy. He can still move though

I concur. These guys cast a blind eye to all of what is happening in college football and still pine for the days of old and the single threat QB of their mythical dreams. Probably the ones that they would be happy their daughters would marry.

that you are are stupid beyond measure...

and i would LOVE for people on this board to not do this:

black QB=dual threat QB=not a good throwing QB, or:
white QB= pocket passer QB=great throwing QB....

and for the fricking love of all that is holy it's not a requirement for a QB to have feet that are made of lead to be a pocket passer... just because a QB can be a threat with his feet doesn't mean he can't be more than effective as a passer...

Randall Cunningham, in hindsight, was WAYYYYYY ahead of his time, and would be a 5 star guy that everyone would be trying to get right now, and he was a dual threat as it gets... hell, Warren Moon would have been a "dual threat" QB too... could even make a case for Stabler, and to some extent Archie Manning as well... but we don't classify those guys as dual threat QB's because that terminology wasn't around at the time, so that narrative was never applied to their game...

You can add Fran Tarkenton & pre knee injury Joe Namath to that list as well otherwise

Franks is absolutely a pocket passer.

He looks like Mett on tape with just better mobility.

He's very comparable to Jameis Winston as an athlete I believe.
